Need help factoring DA in for 1/8th mile!!!
Grrr.... Sooo I went out to the 1/8th mile last night with the Buick Club that I have my other cars in, and ran the SRT6... I was pretty much expecting it to be running somewhere in mid low 8's, but instead found myself running in the high 8's... The car is totally stock and the only thing i can think of is the DA? It was supposively somewhere between 3750-3800 when i ran my car.. Would that be significant enough to cause my car to lose so much time? (dont mess with DA too much lol)
I tried finding a 1/8th mile calculator that factors in DA, but couldnt find one, so im really relying on yall to help me out! Just hated seeing high numbers when i was expecting fairly lower ones. (Average of runs was 8.8)
Thanks,
Kolme

Here is what I use for DA DA Calculator - Density Altitude Calculator - DragTimes.com
I would not be too concerned about that time with it being so hot outside in Texas. I in the best conditions, I can pull a 7.9, but I doubt I would hit it today!! With a stock SRT6 8.8 sounds about right!

be happy for the DA you guys get down there, up here in the panhandle most race days the DA is 5700-6500... like right now the DA is 6670. LOL

DA isn't factored any different for distances. 1/8th, 1/4 or even a mile. Now it's possible for DA to be different from where you take off to where you finish if say your racing up a mountain. In drag racing it's rare to have a track elevate from start to finish, after the finish line may elevate to slow down the cars.
