Coming home today on SR 520, I was stopped at a light when the car next to me started on the horn. I rolled the window down, and there were two guys about 25 or so, I imagine, in a black Jeep SRT8.

The guy riding shotgun said, 'Nice car, old man' and the two of them began laughing. I said, 'Thanks, is that your father's car?'

They stopped laughing and rolled up their window.

Well, the light turned and I had the foresight to disengage the nanny and shift to D1, unfortunately for them. I paced him until about 25mph or so then put the hammer down.

I was amazed that I could pull four car lengths on them right away and began pulling away until they shut down. They were not amused and turned off before the next light.

Thanks for the info about using D1.....works great...and thanks Rob for the dual CAIs......makes a world of difference.

Everyone loves an old fart.

What is this trick with D1? Is that where you shift into the manomatic thing?

 

Pull the shift lever towards you and it will downshift to the next lower gear or lower depending on your speed. Shift down to first at a stop and the tranny will not shift to the next higher gear until the engine hits red line !!!
