Chrysler SRT6 Warranty
I have a Chrysler 8/80 Extended Warranty on my SRT6. It has been in service for 5 years but only has 20K miles on it. Recently I had my supercharger replaced because of bad bearings. I assumed I would pay the $100 deductible and was very glad I had purchased the extended warranty as the "bumper to bumper" ran 36 months 36K miles. I was pleasantly surprised when the supercharger was replaced and they DID NOT charge the deductible.
I just took a look at the 2005 SRT Vehicles Warranty Information book. To my surprise there are a number of additional warranties included from the factory. Here are some.
7 years or 70K miles (this is the CALIFORNIA emmisions warranty info - it does not pertain to other states)
air pump
charge air cooler
exhaust manifold - left and right
fuel tank
intake manifold
MAF sensor w/integral IAT sensor
Supercharger
throttle actuator
transmission control module
Chrysler Crossfire Parts Covered for 8 years 80K miles (this is the CALIFORNIA emmisions warranty info - it does not pertain to other states)
Engine control module
Emission related hoses, clamps, belts, pulleys, tubes, gittings, sealing devices, mounting hardware included
Malfunction indicator lamp
Three-way catalyst
Warm-up three-way catalyst

No, but they were quick to diagnose and replace. It is obviously a known issue. The fact that it is specifically covered for seven years leads me to believe they knew it could be a problem.

Thanks for posting this information. The local dealer here stated that the 7/70 also covers the engine, transmission, and rest of the drive train. Is this true? I am trying to determine if I need to purchase an extended warranty. Thanks
All of the 8/80 stuff is part of the Federal Emissions Warranty and covers all new cars sold in the US. My Miata lost it's cat with 62,000 miles on the clock 7 years and 8 months after its In-Service date. Didn't cost me dime even though the total dealer bill would have been $685.00
I believe that is correct for Limited and Base models. The SRT has a different warranty.

Did you pay that for the supercharger replacement? If so, did you have less than 70K miles? They may owe you a "Hundy". Check out the SRT Warranty book.

Is the original warranty transferable? I thought I once read that there was a fee to transfer the warranty and more often than not, the seller does not pay the fee if he is turning it back into the dealer. This can be negotiated though if you a purchasing a car from an individual.

Yep. But also had the hood shock/strut thingy replaced and the seat heater fixed. So the "Hundy" covered everything I 'spose.

No recall to my knowledge. There have been quite a few forum members that have had the bearings in the Supercharger go out. Chrysler seems quick to replace them. The fact that the standard warranty on the SRT6 is 36K/36 months but the supercharger is covered for 70K/72 months would indicate that they know there might be an issue.

Everyone, a bit of a mea culpa here. I was making a copy to send to another forum member when I looked closer at the section heading. The 7/70 listing for the supercharger is listed under the emmisions warranty, more specifically the California Emmisions Warranty. Checking further the supercharger is listed covered only 2/24 on the Federal Emmisions Warranty. This is useless as the standard warranty is 3/36.
So unfortunately it looks like the 7/70 on the supercharger only pertains to cars sold in California.
