My first track experiance
Hey guys I have finaly gone to the track tonight and must say i had an absolutely awesome time! I managed to get in ten runs, im really dissapointed with the times i got but never the less it was a blast.
My PB for the night was 13.026 I was unable to crack into the 12s which was really frustrating, i went there full of confidence thinking i would achieve a 12.7. Here are my 3 best slips 1/4, 60ft and MPH. The temp was 77 fahrenheit. BTW i forgot to turn off the esp...
Any tips or advice in what im doing wrong?
I got a fair bit off attention which was pleasing from randoms and staff
Great night had a blast just didnt get a 12 to end my night perfectly

great runs for first time out,
I know you did some of this but i will post it for you and others
1. street tires go around the water, (water will drain between the theard and you will spin like crazy,) keep your street as dry as you can.
2. stage deep this car loves deep staging,, (when you light up the bottom little blub, let the car roll (bump) foward just a little after a few times you get the hang of it).
3. onced you are staged (with trac off) hold brake with left foot, bring the rpm up to say 12 to 15oo (your busy you don't have to look until you get use to it, 4 or 5 runs later then try to get rpm aroung 1500 to 1700.
4. find the green light now move up to the last yellow(the one above the green) when that light comes on ===go, gas to the floor.
5. get your time slip with a great RT and a great ET and mph. enjoy ,,, jim

Geez must have been hot in QLD!
whats the deal? are your tyres worn? especially seeing that you have a SL intake and a Code3 pully you should definatly be in the mid to high 12's, just a needswings cai gets people in the high 12's!
if your tyres are fine I'd get that pully check out man, should definatly be going faster then that!!

I dont think my tyres are all too bad, my pulley seems fine because i tested it and there were nice gains. A combination of heat, esp and my bad driving i would say. Ill be back in two weeks to have another go, by that stage ill have my belt wrap kit on and ESP off!

You did just fine your first time out. That's alot of power to get comfortable with. Concentrate on your launches that give you most with the least wheel spin. If you spin knock a half second off your time. Also look for the groove that the fast cars with slicks are leaving the rubber in. I usually park my car and what I call "Walk the Lanes". I walk about 30-40' behind the lanes and look for the groove of rubber. When I get in the lane especially when going around the water, back up and find your groove. It sure helps. Good job making it out to the track. You'll even draw more of a crowd when your pulling mid 12's. Also ask the tower for a DA (density altitude) reading. That's helpful to predict what times you should be running in those conditions.
