Default Leaning out issues

I have attached a couple of my data logs. I am really getting frustrated I just had a new tune flashed and they put the same one they did on bulldoggers yet I am still going really lean on the top end. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Not that I'll be of much help probably, but I'm not seeing any data logs.

Yes, I was also going to say this. You are correct.

Good to know I did not know he had upgraded his fuel pump. It is even running about 18 AFR at idle in gear. This just started last night. I have put some lucas fuel treatment in hoping maybe a fuel injector or 2 have started to clog. I am getting a dyno tune in atl in dec so hopefully I can get this fixed. I must admit I am frustrated I finally got the car to hook up and got some good launches but because of the lean issue I had to back off since I don't want to damage my motor.

It frustrates the shyt out of me that we still cannot adjust simple fuel curves with an app/programmer. IMO, this should be one of the biggest on the "to do" lists for us.....Having said that, each car is always different. Custom dyno tuning is really the way to go. Trust me, I have been having lean conditions with every tune I've had. I will be getting my dyno tune within the next week or two to resolve this once and for all (crosses fingers). Lol. I would consider this if you really want to dial it in......

18 is massivley wrong, you are using a uncalibrated sensor or the engine is sick lean, I get 14.2.

You can boost a/f by adjusting the fuel RAIL PRESSURE. Only takes 3-5 pounds above the stock 60 psig to turn 17 : 1 to 12:1.

It will be interesting to see if the dyno tune corrects this leaning issue. If not, then the Tuner should be able to see and tell why.

Good luck Gent's, let us know the outcomes.

woody where did you install your adjustable fuel pressure regulator at?

I assume you used one of these:

AEM 25-390 Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator

I have used this one before on other cars:
Holley 512-500-1 Ford 1986 to 1993 5.0L Mustang Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator 35-65 PSI - Atlantic Speed Warehouse

I have had the ztronic and dashdaq installed for the last month and always read about 14.8 to 15.0 at an idle. So unless the sensor could loose calibration somehow I would think it is accurate. Around town and at highway speeds it is reading 14.8 to 15.0. Is it possible my fuel filter is clogging or have these cars had any fuel pump issues?

if you have had idle AFR of 14.0 ish for the last few months than that is about right... what is happening if i were to guess is that thhe changing weather is causing your car to lean out at the top end... if i were to guess i'd be it is at the top of third gear...

your custome tune on 12/12 will be good for it. tony at eurocharged, myself and distantpulse will be working this week to take care of distantpulse's bit of a leaninig problem. it should give tony a good starting point for your tune once we get his dialed in this week...

Youd replace the stock one and adjust it as you need.Woody

That is good news I hope you are successful in fixing this issue. I really would like to see my car live up to it's potential.

I lean out also after installing the 185.. Mustang GT guys think I'm chicken. I am! Just trying to save my fuel starved engine. NeedsWings is finalizing his bench testing with the solution to our leaning out problem. Rob will be releasing his solution kit for our problem shortly. I'm sure a good back yard mechanic could solve this problem on his own,but I need a kit. Squirrel Crusher

Just when you think you are done spending money something else comes up. Will the fun never end?
I am looking forward to the time when I will get to just go run my car for a while with out thinking about the next mod.

yes, if a 1/10 you need, it takes $$$ to get it. Rob, and of course, Prof Woody are on to something...so I am standing by before I do anything else...this leaning out thing happens to me too....I haven't done any cooling mods yet, and haven't went to meth yet, but something has to happen where we are now...
