Can someone please send me a diagram for the pulley cause my belt came off and i need to somehow put it back on.

 

the groove side of the belt goes on the grooved pulleys, the smooth side of the belt goes on the smooth pulleys.

I wonder why my belt came off!!! not a good sign might need to look into a belt wrap kit.

 

doubt that belt slippage is the cause. i beat on mine all the time with a c3 setup and never lost a belt. this may be due to belt tensioner getting weak or some foriegn fluid on the belt itself or most likley improper belt alignment
check all your pullies for good alignment and for wear.

 

He man I thought that aswell but the alignment is perfect and definatly no fluids, it may be cause the water/meth it I'm running about 55%meth 45% water this may be creating additional boost and the belt couldn't handle it!!

 

i doubt that the meth and c3 pulley would equal the stacked setups and 185 crank pulleys being run with no belt issues.
i wonder if the new batch of c3 pulleys is the culprit as it seems billvp has the same problem

I have one of the new ones….after selling my old pulley to bmorgan and getting “sellers remorse” I called up HP Autowerks and got one of the new ones. Something to make note of, my stock pulley had 4 shims originally. My first generation Code 3 pulley came with 3 shims and I had to use all of them. My new Code 3 pulley required me to remove all 4 of my stock shims to get the alignment spacing correct. (Note 7 shims total on First batch of the Code 3 to NO shims on the new batch for my install)

This would eluded to the new pulley having a tighter tolerance than the factory!


My guess is that the pulley / belt is not installed correctly...My new Code 3 Pulley works fine and I have had no belt issues.

 

So, have you noticed any performance difference between the one that you sold me, and the new one? I am assuming that the new one is much lighter. I am very happy with mine, just curious if the new ones produce any more power/boost than the 1st gen. ones.

 

I could not say if it was any lighter or see any difference in performance. Other than not having the cuts in the groves, it looks a hole lot like the stock one. I currently do not have a boost gauge plus I am just running my stock intake with the code 3 intake mod that I had years ago. I am thinking about getting a Dashdaq, but cant tell how much boost it is creating. I will say that the combination of the pulley and my tune now being back in line, the car feels as fast as ever. (Keep in mind that I went from being with the LET Tune and the stock intake and pulley....my car was PIG rich and actually the tune was hurting performance.) I am thinking about going to the track this weekend with 240M3SRT and get a baseline for the current mod set up.

 

So you took out all the shimmings? when I took my stock pully off there was 1 shimming and I left it there thought it couldn't do any harm?

I dont blame the pully for the belt slip, I've had the pully for 3 weeks and driven it really hard, funny how the first night I took it out with the meth kit it happend

With all fairness though I was having a horrible night due to personal reasons and was pushing the car REALLY hard! hasn't come off since and I'm going to the track friday so we'll see what happens I guess!
