Default Brakes?

Just today the car started squeaking while I was braking, does this mean I need to replace the pads? I took off the tire and looked and I think it still has the original pads on it, and the car is approaching 60k miles. I drive it pretty hard as well with lots of high speed driving and some braking in there. Should I swap them out? Also, I can't tell which wheel(s) is squeaking, but I'm assuming the fronts because those do all of the work.

Only reason I wonder is I haven't seen anything on the dash telling me the brakes are low. But I don't know how low they have to be before that comes on.

Autozone here has rotex golds in stock, so if you guys say I need them I'm going to go pick them up.

Oh, can I replace them myself or do I need to go somewhere to do it for me? I can swap the pads fine, but can't do much past that, so would I need to bring it to a shop so they can do something to the rotors?

look at the akebono euro pads as an alternative. no brake dust , little to no squeal and very little fade

Ended up with duralast gold from autozone. Seem to work well, so far the dust is very low. Stops well too, but don't want to beat them up as they are new. They have a cool warranty, he said if I keep up with the box and receipt, when they get low I can just bring them in and get new ones. I liked that. Cost me about 70 bucks after tax.

It was funny, he said his mom had a srt6 as well. He said he really liked the automatic spoiler. I asked if he was sure it was the srt6 model, and he said it definitely was. I didn't feel like arguing so I just left it there. I'm thinking he was misinformed.

Should have asked him if the same brakes he sold you would also fit on his mom's crossfire?

Haha, I know what you mean. I did, however, get to watch him put in the car details on the computer and get the box to match the numbers, so not too worried there. But yeah, had he just grabbed some, then told me that, I probably would have handed them back and gone elsewhere.

Yep, both tires for 70.

They seem to be working well. Don't have any autocross experience so I can't be a great source, but they stop the car, so that's good.
