Default SRT-6 Occasional loss of power

Hello,
I have 20,000 mile on my SRT-6. I have been noticing lately that when warmed up and cruising around 40 M.P.H., when I give it gas the car does not respond.

It feels like the supercharger is not engaging or the belt is slipping?

Has anyone had this happen and what was the fix?

Thank you

Peter Lindholm

It's most likely the intercooler pump. You'll find all you need for info on it if you type in ic pump in the search tab.

25 posts....well, it is you IC pump...it is going bad....on rare occasions, I don't think so in your case w/ 20k on the clock, it is the IC temp sensor....punch in IC Pump replacement in the search feature....you can have it fixed if you have warranty, and they will replace the bosch pump....if no warranty, I would go w/ a Johnson Pump....there are vendors on here that sell them...there is a "how to" for installation on the search feature as well.....good luck

If by some chance the service tech doesn't have a clue what it is...lol. Tell them to look up (charge air cooler circulation pump) in the service manual.

Oh that is too funny! I talked with the service manager and mentioned to him that my IC pump may be going out. He reassured me "that some times a vacuum hose to the turbo comes loose" I may just do it myself.

Thanks again

I did the search and printed out a couple threads that documented the symptoms and fix, brought them to my dealer. They had to duplicate the problem, which took a couple test drives (they did not get it warmed enough the first time). Then they discussed it with Chrysler and replaced it under warranty. I have not had issues with the dealer, but I haven't given them anything overly complex to repair. Now that the warranties are over, I use a local indie shop who works on my Audis and also services Mercedes, Porsche, etc. If you need a shop in southwest MI, let me know. :-)
