Default Rear end Lube

I want to change my rear end oil and am looking for recommendations on type of oil and feelings about additives like X1-R.

well, all in all i'd guess that this is a really, really personal question for a forum like this, but since you asked, i'd go with something that's comfortable for you, (everybody has their own tastes and preferences y'know) something probably relatively long lasting, and one that for sure minimizes friction between parts, cuz the last thing you'd want to have happen is a breakdown, or a blowout of some sort as a result of improper lubing. Yikes!

What did you find unsatisfying about the current stuff you use? perhaps that will give a general direction to obtain the biggest "bang for the buck". So to speak. I guess it also would have soemthing to do with how long you plan on leaving it in there. As far as any more additives, i haven't heard about that one, unless they coined a new term for the old stuff they might put in there. One might expect there'd be plenty as it is. but then again, I don't know about that. hope I was of at least some assistance!

I have 32000 miles on my car and a lot of passes at the track. I am trying to be preemptive to try and avoid a rear end failure. I have no preference and not much knowledge when it comes to rear ends.

OMG, we're talking about the car???? My humble mistake! LOL. I'm so sorry Xray, I just couldn't resist that lead-in. I understand your question, it was just way too good an opportunity to pass up. Since I'm not into racing I'm sure the other guys can help you.

My vote is Full Synthetic 75/90, either Mobil 1 or Lucas.

Thanks for having a good sense of humor X! Mark Mobil 1 is my choice in the high stress area of the motorcycle too.
