took the words out of my mouth. Maybe only 7hp more peak but you gain alot of meat under the curve which makes a big difference in acceleration.

yep, and every modification shifts where peak power is made. Ive even see where in some situations peak power drops a bit but more power is made elsewhere, so going by peak power really isnt the way to do it

Maybe remove that dumb code3 intake, oh i mean cheesy filter at the back of the factory intake...c3 got some people good with that gimmick.
definately, if he is running that 5 cent filter on the back of his engine that just sucks hot air and hurts power.

Ditch the filter, I made a copy of it and my car felt SLOWER.

You guys are all crazy....

The issue is no tune. I ran a 12.3 with tune, Code3 pulley and code 3 filter. Ran 12.2 with the code 3 filter off and needswings on. BikeCop ran the same 12.3 if I recall. I put the code 3 filter on a stock SRT6 and it picked up .2 on back to back runs. GET A TUNE!!!!

+1

With plenty of sample data passes for reference - it would be interesting to see the net gain / loss when swapping out the Code3 pulley with the OEM pulley (with tune and "any" intake mod) then making a few passes.

I have never done this at the track but I rode around with stock pulley, code 3 intake and a tune for a few weeks when I was thinking about selling my car. I put a code 3 pulley back on and it felt like a different car!!! The key is all these items work together to create the end result. Quite frankly, any of the 3 items... ( Pulley, Intake, Tune) no matter what brand, style or cost seem to net the same result. 12.2-12.4 in the 1/4.

If you installed it and have no wheel and belt slip, you have an intake leak of some such thing cause I have run all pullies and one stacked set. Youll note the difference, buttometer for sure. Woody

Good point, original c3 pulley 65mm (two versions groved steel and non groved alum). Then came the c3 68mm called a midsize also two versions alum first then steel no groves either one (meant to run stacked with a 178mm crank pulley).Just my two centavo's. ILLCYA

Hard to tell from the photo but it would appear that the one on the right is slightly larger so perhaps it is the midsized version. Do you have a caliper to measure the diameter?

The pulley alone gives you 4 more PSI of boost! My car went from 14 to 18 psi, so it should be the same for all of us. So I'm thinking there better be more than 7 hp from 4 more PSI.

I don't know....DJ...you keep out this....you and your black thing...but when I bought the blue coupe....stock, it would keep up with the "black" roadster...now with the same mods and "no tune" it will take the roadster out of the hole...not every car is the same...mods or no mods...this little blue coupe may be faster, but only the track times will tell....so, your friend just may have a pretty fast stock srt to begin with...but, once the code 3 pulley was put on, and installed correctly...which means proper gap set when you installed it...you should notice the difference in the lower end...for sure...I take it, you did a throttle reset, and gave the car some time to adjust?.....just my take on it...

the 7 hp is from adding the filter to the pulley not the pulley itself. you need to measure the pulley it should be 65 mm. anything else is the midsize pulley meant to be run stacked with a 178.
check the spacing of the pulley. you may have it spaced to far out and its not engaging properly. you want it as close to the clutch without touching anywere on the clutchpack
AND DJ THE BLACK COLOR IS GOOD FOR A SOLID .2 FASTER TIME. cmon you know you want one!!!!
and lastly buggin had a c3 filter during the dyno tune session. he pulled bigger # than most of the srt-6's and 32's there. and he backs it up with a 12.1 timeslip!!!

So the only way to gain power is to go purchase a 178 pulley to add on to this?
