Default clicking noise

I'm new to the forum and need some help. A few months ago my SRT-6 developed a rapid clicking noise when I turn on the ignition. Sounds as though it comes from behind the radio. It only last two to three seconds and stops. It doesn't do it every time I turn the key, only occasionally. I don't think it's the CD player, as it works just fine. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any and all thoughts will be welcomed. Thanks.

It's the CD player. Mine started doing it last week when I tried to eject a CD, I had to bump the side of the console for the eject motor/gears to engage, looks like a new radio is in your future. An aftermarket unit will sound better anyway.

Every once in awhile my cd player will make a clicking noise but its mostly at first start up, and does not happen all the time. a lot of these factory radios do this from time to time. I have had mine replaced several times. Also it could be a mode door accuator which is a motor mounted on the HVAC system to change the modes of operation, as in defrost mode, floor mode, and vent mode, also for the temp blend door. If it is leaves in the fan, you should hear more noise towards the glove box area behind it.

It is very easy to check the filter and blower motor. Just drop the panel below the glove box and there are two access door with slide locks on them, one for cabin filter and one for AC motor. I was changing my cabin filter and checked the motor and got leaves and crap out of it... I wasnt getting any noise from it and it had yuk in there...

I'm not looking it up. but I thought it was the passenger air bag sensor. If I am correct, you may see the button to the right of the ash tray flashing at the same time.
