Default Hood Blanket

Is it safe to remove the thermal blanket under the hood? Would it ruin the paint from the heat? Any thoughts...

I believe a few people have removed it, Waldig for one, but I have not heard if anyone has seen any paint blemishes popping up.

As hot as the engine runs and without good underhood ventilation I would be apprehensive to remove it. This is just my opinion and not based on any previous trial and error.

I am curious as to what others on here think as well....

You might want to consider some nicer reflective heat barrier that would fit up within the supports in the hood rather than the big black blanket that covers everything currently on there. I have seen that and it looks really cool!

Cheers,

I removed mine because it was beginning to sag on my engine cover. I'm in the processor looking for a suitable replacement.
