Default Liftgate prop rod

Can someone tell me the rating in pounds for the liftgate proprod for the SRT? It should be on the rod. Mine is a NA to which the PO had the dealer add a srt wing. As a result the liftgate is heavier and the NA rod struggles to keep it up.

jhm2k added a srt-6 wing to his n/a and i havent seen any issues with his. it lifts smoothly and stays up without any effort. most likely the rods are failing and just need to be replaced

Parts, com and chryslerparts.net only list one Support Cylinder for all Crossfires. The cylinders on my NA don't show a rating. Just to make sure - you do have a cylinder on each side? I can't tell from your question. If you have two, I agree with 32Crazy! - replace your cylinders.

My SRT does not show a 'rating... however...
here is the information printed on the rod:

www.stabilus.com
6542TX 038ON 003/05 AC 17
------------

http://www.stabilus.com/non-locking-gas-springs.html

hope that helps...

it is a 'lift-o-mat' strut.

--------------

... there is other information shown, in english and german, but nothing that would help in ordering, or providing additional information that would assist.

It's the same part for the for the SRT 6. You might just need new ones.
