and hurricane if your worried about cali enmissions and such the sl55 intake flows almost as much as the dual cai is cheaper and looks oem!

Because cost was an issue for me, and I'm not racing our 6, I went w/ the single NW but with the bigger, better flowing Xtreme K.&N. filter. I have yet to see a comparison of how much better the dual setup actually does on the dyno, compared with my setup. I'm guessing very minor. But if you're drag racing and can get even .1 or .2 seconds off your time, then it would be worth the extra cost. My .02 cents." I was looking for a larger filter as well what is the part # for the K N extreme?? thanks
The car is registered in Texas, not so much an issue there when it comes to vehicle inspections. The hood never gets raised. Also, I have the car mainly in Mexico where I don't have to worry about radar traps. They have bigger issues to worry about. Once I get the vehicle set-up, CAI, Code3 pully and tune, I'll see how fast I can reach. There are some new roads with long straight stretchers where I can test the vehicle. No worries I will be filming it. Now if I could only source a Code3 pulley.

Update your gallery with an under-the-hood shot please?!?!? Thanks

I was stuck in the same dilemma Hurricane. I went with the SL55 but it was a damn tough decision. I still dont know if I made the right one, but I will be installing the SL55 setup soon. If I dont like it I will sell it for a NW dual.
I paid $550 for the y pipe, airboxes, tvt tubes, couplers, and mounting brackets. This is $250 cheaper than NW dual. Also, should be minimal SC whine compared to NW dual.
If SC whine, maximum performance sound good to you, (at a very hefty price) get the NW dual.
If minimal SC whine, near maximum performance and stock look would be better (along with being considerably cheaper), go with SL55.

does anyone have a sl55 setup laying around? if so please mail it over here and i'll put it on the flowbench so we can put the flow speculations to rest. i have already flowed the stock system, 3 versions of our single and 3 versions of our dual. im betting that our basic single CAI beats the sl55 setup with k&n's.

For sh*ts-n-giggles - you can cut and affix a couple of aluminum or mild steel pieces to the inside-tops your SL55 intake airboxes (could probably do this with the stock airboxes) and it will make your SC whine like a *****...

I had some scrap sheet metal - but only enough for the top portion for one box and about 3/4 for the top of the other SL55 filter box. I fixed them in place with some double sided tape (temp) and went for a drive...... and wrrrrheeeeeeeep!! Like an echo chamber...
I bet if you bent the metal so to form three sides it would be even louder... and if you added the TVT metal SL55 intake tubes...wow!!
I bet this would work with the factory filter boxes - but I'm thinking the mufflers on the OEM intake tubes will dampen the sound a bit...

Having the TVT tubes on the SL55 intake made a VERY noticable SC whine on the SSB as compared to the factory plastic tubes when I had it installed on the Aero......
I installed a Needwings CAI last night and took her for a ride. Nice. I like to thank Rob for his prompt service and support. I'm a bit to old to be racing tuners but it is fun to have a little extra power to scare them off my tail. By the way, the copper cover is to chromed this week.

pan makes no difference on a crossfire...and I don't know how yours flows in an air chamber with no rear wing, I wouldn't think there would be a lot of downforce at high speeds...the front bumper cover on mine is shaking like a leaf at those speeds trying to keep it down...the "drip pan" is just that, a drip pan...each to their own, but we have been up there numerous times in all kinds of windy conditions...the vette I had was more solid, but the XF does just fine. I have a trucking buddy with a car like yours, he bought for his wife...and they are very similar, but not the nose or lack of wing in the back...I just dont see it being a high speed car...nothing to hold her down...now the newer models, seem to have more rake in the front, and more styling for high speeds...the way it is configured, it just looks fast setting there
