Default Magnaflow installation - help

I resently bought a Magnaflow exhaust for my SRT 6. I took it to an ehaust place to have it installed and they told me I had the wrong exhaust. The exhaust I bought is a Manaflow 16633. What needs to be done to install this exhaust on my car. Any tips, tricks, secrets, proceedures or suggestion is appreciated. Do I also need to buy a Y-pipe or something. I started to do a search and there are to many pages to see if it has been addressed already.

Thanks, Larry

Chief that fits the N/A version. SRT's have larger pipes. I don't know, I'd return it and get one that fits the SRT.

Which one fits the SRT 6? The website doesn't specify SRT 6 and I thought I this is the one that everyone was installing.

I know its not the 16633. That one is definitely for the N/A which is what I have on my car. I don't know if someone could make a reducer for you at a muffler shop? Personally I wouldn't do that. I'd suggest going on Magnaflow's web site to see if they make one for the SRT. Hopefully someone with an SRT that has an afternarket exhaust will chime in and help you out. I think Borla made an exhaust for the SRT???

Ok I just checked Maganflow's web site for you and they do not offer a cat back or anything for that matter for the SRT. Try Ebay?

From what I gather the AMG exhaust on the SRT's already flows pretty well, and all I've seen done is removal of the rear resonator ..........didn't realize anybody made an aftermarket exhaust for the SRT

whoever sold you that catback either lied or was just ignorant to the fact that it is not for a srt6. even if you had it fabbed together it would be a downgrade due tot he smaller diameter tubing then oem srt6. there is no premade catbacks for the srt6's. contact the seller and get a full refund including shipping.

we made a few different catbacks but they all sounded bad IMO while daily driving so we never produced them, i like the cat delete downpipes much better hence thats what we make for the srt6's. we can make them without the cutouts also if that what you would prefer.

chief if you get a full refund i have a suggestion for you.. i removed my resonator and secondary cats and in place of the h pipe i installed a magnaflow x pipe. total cost was approx 200$ for everything. now i have a mellow sound around my neighborhood and a euro beast when im in the throttle. virtually no drone at all which i attribute to the x pipe. without using the needswings dual exhaust imo this is the best sound for the s/c engine. the amg muffler is really a great muffler
