Try that with any other ins company!
If you ever have to get picked up by someone from this family your wife will be going though your life insurance policy before you leave the driveway.

Unfortunately, 90limited, when your insurer pulls up the VIN, the vehicle will most likely come up as a 'hot rod' ... surely not a collectable automobile. That sux, especially if your driving record is not exactly stellar.

So it may be the case that you will not be able to insure your SRT for a stated value for a reasonable premium amount.

Good luck.

I have had USAA for the past 28 years, both in Michigan as well as here in the Phoenix area. I couldn't come close to the low premiums they charged, even when I had two teenage drivers in the house.

By the way, is your friend with USAA named "Lucky"? (Sorry, I couldn't
resist)

I have six vehicles with Meemic and the three XFs are liability only (100/300) at $178/each every 6 months. My two are garaged and driving less than 3k a year, usually in the daytime in nice weather. Since I live in a suburban/rural area, there is not much traffic and I work from home, so no commute. I agonized over dropping the collision but when I factored it across five cars it saved me $1500-3000/year. Keep in mind I have an A4 and the 2007 XF with an 18 year old and 20 year old primary driver, so the collision was out of sight. I even decided to drop the collision for the summer on my A6 (a 2003 2.7T with 174k miles -- the winter beater) but will add it back on in November as it is used for the riskiest mileage in the winter. I looked into Haggerty's but they told me it had to be 20 years old.

Calif. zip code 95129, $500 deductible with $100K/300K liability and collision/theft coverage = $650/year with the Hartford Insurance group (AARP). I have no tickets/points, no accidents, over 50, with only my wife as another driver. Seems about "normal". Since they will total the SRT6 out pretty quick if you smash it (slow selling model, made only 3 years, parts rare, hard to get, MB/Chrysler marriage dead, not too many trained techs), I'm considering changing coverage as the car ages, if it doesn't fit into collector status at that point.

I feel almost guilty, for 2 Jeeps and SRT6 I pay just under $600 per year with State Farm. There is a discount for mult. vehicles and they carry my homeowners policy.

Insurance cost is based on the coverage, minimum coverage costs next to nothing.

Agreed, however, I have higher than normal coverage due to my disability, I can't take any chances.
