Default IC pump or SC problem?

Hi All:

Newbie needs a little help please. First time I've notice this. Going to work this morning in the SRT and doing about 80, came up on a truck going uphill and I switched lanes and accelerated to 90 to pass him when I heard a pop and there was a slight hesitation before the SC kicked in.

Other than the pop and hesitation, no other problems. I did a search of the forum and can't decide if the problem is due to the IC pump or SC. Car has 53k miles.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

If your pump was going bad you would feel the S/C cuting in and out also when it cuts out there is a big difference on how the acceleration is, its like your engine is starving for more air or like driving an NA model. The pop noise you heard I'm not sure, although I'm sure someone else will chime in with some advice.

need a little more info than that....did it run fine afterwards, or does it cut in and out, does it idle or die? Help us out here, and we might be able to help you...

runs fine except for that one hicup. no problems on the ride home but no chance to push it again to the 80 - 90mph range due to traffic to duplicate the conditions.

depending on traffic and weather, I may try again tomorrow morning.

thanks,
Tom

Ok, so on the same stretch of road this morning, I was only able to get to 85 due to the traffic, but no pop and no hesitation from the sc

so... hopefully, yesterday was just a one time occurance. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it.

thanks for the help,
Tom
