Talking Wanna drive on Summit point track ???

I just signed up for a track day at Summit point. Seems that the event is open to street cars and you get skid pad training and instruction plus 4 20 minute sessions on the track. Here is the link for the registeration. Ill try to include the track data link also. Woody

What tires do most run at these track events? I doubt my Hoosier A6's would last 4-20 min hot laps. Are most running a performance street radial? I'd hate to eat up $1400 in PS2's in a day. What do you think about the stock brakes for this event? I would expect substantial fading, but should a new set of pads be added prior to the event? Thanks

Iam using my stock tires and new metallic brakes and fluid. You are not going to be drifting with a 2600 foot straight of way. Iam not going to be too aggressive as I need to learn to do this before going too wild. I mean its a street car for gosh sake. Woody

You guys are soooo lucky you have race tracks south of the border.

We have absoluely nothing worth mentioning up here. it hurts because all the new big parking lots up here are going curb crazy! lol the closest we get to "having fun" is racing on a hwy on-ramp.

Man, that sounds like fun and if I was in the neighborhood I'd be there. Be sure to take lots of pictures and videos are always welcome.

Waldig, Not sure I can do the course thing. However, I might be able to drive up and see you go at it. It is approx. 1 hr from where I live in MD.

You guy's that can drive a little to get the opportunity to run on some of the nations best courses are SOOOO lucky.
I would give my "I" teeth to drive there, Oh wait a minute I gave those up to get the SRT...
Have a great time and remember PUSH IT you'll never know how fast you can corner until you break traction. If you do, don't let off the gas!!!
Good Luck, enjoy yourself and post some good photos.
