I'm using a modified NeedsWings dual CAI. Have lots of room for the factory grill but I refuse to put the ugly grill back in place. Rob made up 2- long 3" by 2 3/4 straight reducers for me. Each side of the radiator framing has a 2 3/4 90 degree rubber hose passing thru. I modified by notching out behind the aluminum 90 degree on the drivers side, then welded in a small portion of tubing that I cut in half, length ways, so there would be a curve pertruding into the 2 3/4 tubing. So looking inside the 2 3/4 90 degree elbo for the drivers side, you would see just the partial side or another tubing welded in. Reason being for doing this,We have a A/C service valve keeping us from shoving the 90 degree back because the aluminum pipe and service valve bump. By this partial tubing being cut down length ways then welded in,you can slide the 90 degree back much further. Rob then set me up with two K&N Extreme RX-5090. They are somewhat flattened on the big end to the size of the small round end,so that will give you even more grill clerance. Hope this method would give you plenty of grill room. It does for my car. I'm working on a new style grill now. Squirrel Crusher

32krazy, maybe you could post a picture of what yours looks like with the grill off? Then we can see how it compares to ours.
Are you saying that your filters are parallel to the Supercooler and touching it (such as Squirrel Crusher's) ... or are they angled and touching it?
