Default n/w dual cai pics needed

im jammed up! bought cruzinquicks dual cai after asking a million folks if it wil fit my slk32. issue is in the grill area. all said it would fit and rob even sent me pics of it installed in a slk32. problem is none of the pics have a supercooler!! i cant get my grill back on. fine for race day but cruizin looks awful!
im in need of any pics of a dual cai with a supercooler combo. 32 's prefered but ill take what i can get. grille shots and grill off.
i guess if i cant get it to fit ill have to make a wall sculpture out of it cause i know nobody else would want it!!
i searched the engine bay thread but didnt find what im looking for

Do you have room to relocate the supercooler lower so that it does not sit in front of the grill opening?

Bmorgan's suggestion of dropping down the supercooler might be your only option. Also the bigger filter may be a track only option for your car. Have you taken it out yet?

im only using the smaller filters and they stick out way to far to get my grill on. the h/e is tigheds supercooler and is the same size as the oem radiator for all purposes. no way it moves anywere. emailed rob and confirmed the install on the other 32's were minus the h/e. i may build an oem style h/e that rides below but im torn between the performance of the dual cai and my losing the supercooler and grille for a smaller h/e and the fugly oem grill. my iats are 80* below eng. temps with dj's h/e. doubt i can replicate that with a smaller unit

Steve,
Dont you have the SL55 intake now??.... I love the NW Dual CAI, but I would keep the super cooler and SL55 intake in your position... I think the lessor volume of cooler air will be better than a higher volume of warmer/hotter air.....

I think I can get the supper cooler in the Aero with the NW Dual though.....

i have the sl55 splitter with oem boxes modded and devil horns mike. no denying the flow rates rob posted. riding in 13dogs car with only the dual theres a marked diff. in his car. i compared it to my car with a c3 and no tune. very fast.
your grille is different than mine and you can fit both in yours. i tweaked more turned more stuff and finally got the bottom of my grille in place. now with the grill against the filters im over an 1" away from being able to screw the grill in place. no way it fits.
i found a 2 row h/e that is comparable to the e/c (let) unit on the market. i can get it for 149$ and add a few fittings and such can prolly mount it for less than 175$. then sell the supercooler, hell i dont know!
went out to try the setup on the road and hooray!!!! MY BATTERY IS DEAD!!! guess i win the oldest battery contest! 2002 oem battery! gonna call rob and get me a new shuriken tommorrow

heres the frozen boost h/e

Air to Water Radiator
I would suggest a maintainer for the little batteries unless you drive yours everyday....mine haven't done so well until I put on the maintainers...now, I am always charged ready to go...

NW would definetly be better than the opened up factory....

Did you look at the E55 HE??? Is the Frozen Boost bigger/better than the E55?

I think you need rectangular filers. It's tight on the SRT-6 with the smaller filters with the supercooler but it fits. I'll search the other computer for pictures when I get home.

Have you tried looking at the K&N website for smaller diameter filters so you can possibly get the grill back on? The have tons of different size and shape filters. I would measure to see how much room you have between the grill and supercooler then go shopping for filters rather than reduce the SuperCooler size. Just my $.02.

Good luck!

KrzyFast

I found out the hard way that the little batt,'s don't have much reserve capacity. Parked for a while and left the defroster/blower going (it was cold and raining out) for 15 min.'s or so while I had a conversation, and then NO START. According to Rob our blowers draw 30 amps or so, I guess depending on the fan speed; and I may have had the rear defroster on but I don't think so. Anyway, I won't do that again. He also said he was looking into the Spec.'s and told me I would have done better if I would have left the lights on rather than the blower (as far as running the batt. down), and in hindsight I know I should have started it up after 5 or 10 to be safe (or kept it running). Walking in the rain for help was something I haven't done in many, many a year. 32 Krazy, sorry to get off track. Hope you figure out how to get that dual to fit.

Airhorn Screens

Stack
Filter Screen
Choose from 2 sizes: 2.75" and 3.25" Diameter Air Horn (2 per pack)

I don't know much about these. I can't find a rectangular filter but I think I've seen one before with a round opening, I don't think it had a 3" inlet though. Smaller is your best bet, or you can cut and glue to get what you need. (horrors)

theres a couple of k&n filters that may work but i received an email from ckovach and he actually has a grill i have never seen on a 32. its a steel mesh grill very similar to maxichon's with a mercedes star in the middle. not bad looking at all. not as nice as my 4 lamel grill but if it doesnt break the bank thats the route to go as i can keep both the dcai and the supercooler. awaiting details as my 8 yr old oem battery died so i ordered robs shuriken.
