Been an SRT-6 fan since the car first came out. Finally got my hands on one yesterday!

Just thought I'd say hello and slap a photo up here.

Cheers!

Congrats and welcome to the permagrin club. You got the fastest color SRT-6 roadster.

Ha, thanks!

I brought my lunch into work today, but forgot a spoon. Instead of going to the kitchen to look for one, I decided I should just drive home and eat there. <laughs>

So...she's got about 44k miles on her and appears to be quite well taken care of. Is there anything I should keep an eye out for? Known quirks, problems, or other?

I'll start digging around the forums, but appreciate any quick "ya gotta know this" tips.

Cheers,
AL

Go ahead and buy an IC pump, cold air intake and rear tires. The car is guaranteed to need them soon.

With 44k miles, the I/C pump could very well have already been changed. Is that car in California? Those wheels on an black SRT-6 roadster look familiar. The former owner may have been forum member.

Hey guys, thanks for the heads up.

Regarding the IC Pump...I assume a symptom of this would be loss of power (i.e. the SuperCharger not engaging)? I did experience this once yesterday off the line as I was messing with traction control...but haven't seen it since.

Is this typically something that goes out in one shot, or will it be intermittent before dying completely? I'll keep a close eye on this...

Cheers!

It will come and go more frequently. Easy/inexpensive fix. If you can take it back to the dealership they should replace it since you just purchased the car.

Congrats, that is a great looking SRT roadster and the wheels set it off. I agree with cruzinquicks advice. Make Rob at Needswings your new best friend.

Please look for the VIN# thread and add your VIN# to the thread. We've documented over 1,500 of the 2,944 2005 SRT6 models. Enjoy your ride, I've had mine for 4+ years, its a great car....

So, the IC Pump has GOT to be bad. It's definitely a frequent situation where I just don't have power. Have even noticed it drop out mid-acceleration.

Is there any way to "measure" this or the SuperCharger itself? Meaning, I can already hear the dealer saying "we couldn't get it to do this" and having to fight that battle...I'd like to be able to back it up with something.

Other issues I've noticed:
* Driver side seat heater not working consistently.
* Temperature gauge occasionally off-target (i.e. read minus 33 degrees yesterday for a few hours before it figured itself out)

Cheers!

So what's wrong with that? Oh I'm sorry I was thinking you were here in Montana.
Never mind

Welcome aboard, I don't have an SRT, but I do admire them.

I have to suffer with a n/a Roadster...lol...

BTW, I like those rims, might you know the manufacturer and/or name...???

I might be in the market for new rims after the winter thaw...

Thanx...
