Tow Hitch - Low Profile
Anyone know of a low profile tow hitch that will fit the car?
I can hear the WTFs now. Just bear with me for a minute. I am looking for a tow hitch to carry the track wheels/tires to track days. Not looking to actually tow anything.

I dont recall who it was, but someone here built a custom hitch using parts for a SLK hitch.... looked very good... a search for trailer hitch should find it...

However, I did have a hitch specialist in town look at it, and YES it could be done using off-the-shelf parts and a little welding. The concept basically used two standard hitch receivers installed at the diffuser areas, hung from the frame and the trunk belly (with reinforcement), and then yoked into one ball hitch. Pretty slick. The guy said he would do it for around $500, basically twice the price of a standard hitch.
The caveat is that he would rate the custom hitch for ZERO pounds, just to cover his a$$.
But it can be done.
