Rock Auto will have them, you should just call and make sure you get the right part though. My SRT was in need of a 6-rib and the only sent me a 4-rib alternator on the first try.

Looks like the local Autozone and Advance Auto parts stores both have them for $189.00.

Just look on the alternator to see which brand yours is... my SRT6 has the Valeo alternator... the belt is an 8 rib.... Gates K081145 is the factory size...

Thanks Mike. I ended up getting everything figured out. I went through Rock Auto very friendly and they even will buy the old alternator for $90, but wont be here until Wed. Cost $400 total with shipping 2 day. Way better then the 1700 the dealer was quoting me. Im going to call autozone and see if they have any in stock though.

$400 for an ALTERNATOR? It's just a damn 12 volt (what - 120 amp?) alternator.

Asinine - I could see $200 since it IS a sports car, and yea, it's better than what you quoted in your OP - but still, this is nuts.

With the $90 buy back the alternator is 191. Shipping was $72. Im just going to go through autozone to save the hassle.

The link I provided is $146 with free shipping, but even if it is a bit more, I would go with AutoZone for the convenience.

$191 sounds ok, but $72 shipping?

WHY?
