Where's the beef (The limited slip rear?? wavetec)
I wonder if there are any solid estimates on the delivery of the rear end?
Iam not keeping up and need to get a better feel of the delivery date, races have already begun.
Thanks Woody

Yeah, I kinda feel sorry for you guys, having gone through all the troubles to find a company to do the work, and now they sit on their thumbs for months and months while waiting for some imaginary lack of metal supply to come in and make a part.
The new car I just bought (traded in my Boxster and Altima to get it, as it replaces both) comes with a posi-rear end. A carbon fiber drive shaft, too. Can't wait to get it on the track, to see how it flicks around under the whip.

woody the wavetrac thread is alive and well. to date we are looking at june for the units. jim(amx1397) has taken over the reins as allen deployed to germany in jan. jim has sent all the parts needed and with his v8 conversion should be the perfect testbed for the unit. holler at jim with any questions you may have
bladecutter... as for the imaginary shortage of metal i suggest you cruise the srt8 jeep forums. they also have a group buy as does the mustang guys and everyone is waiting for the metal for the lsd. maybe you could know a bit more about what your talking about before spreading baseless rumors. oh wait you aren't even buying a wavetrac , how could i think you would know whats going on?

You guys have been sitting on your thumbs for MONTHS, plain and simple, for your company to get enough metal to produce the product you want so bad. There's no baseless rumors in stating that.
The shop doesn't want to purchase the metal from their supplier until they have enough orders to buy it in bulk, to make it more profitable to do so. Their supplier doesn't want to sell the metal to them until their is enough quantity requested to make it worth their while to ship them the metal, and direct it away from other purchasers.
I have more than enough contacts inside aerospace engineering to know that if a certain contractor wants a certain amount of metal, no matter how large or small, they can get it in a matter of days. Waiting months for a lower quality metal that doesn't require the massive amounts of paperwork like TZM, and its required chemical tolerances for certain applications does, is just a bit much.
I can understand why they want to wait to produce the parts.
Its all about economics.
But, some people have grown tired of waiting, as you can plainly see from Waldig's post. He wants to get his car racing, as he should.
As for my not buying one, I have no need for it as I don't own a Crossfire.
Bat doesn't need one either, because she's not running her car under conditions where having the rear end you guys want is needed to put the smile on her face.
You guys need to rear end to keep your car from having massive failures while launching in your 1/4 mile racing moments.
I understand why you guys want to have the product.
I understand why the various companies involved are delaying making it available.
And I know there's nothing you can do about it, unless you are willing to pay more money, to get someone to order the metal sooner, which is right where economics comes in, one last time.
Just because I'm not on your super secret special list, doesn't mean I don't know what's going on, 32crazy!

as for people getting restless it was posted long ago anyone that wanted out was welcome to. not a single taker. as for woody racing he already has the phantom grip which serves him well so he wont miss any racing. as for the rest of the g/b racing isn't the only reason. if you did any research you would see folks who don't race at all lunching their diff. at 3000$ for a oem unit from m/b i hope yours doesn't fail. wait you don't have a xfire, i forgot. i hope your better half has a rainy day fund for her diff if it fails. of course you could get an osgiken unit only 8000$. or maybe a drexler unit 6000$. no wait they don't make a unit for the xfire. guess that leaves a used unit that could fail at any time 400$
so in short unless you have contacts with the metal supplier or an inside contact with dana at autotech you really don't know whats going on and your statements are in fact baseless rumors. i don't recall you asking to ship any parts to dana or offer to help allen or jim in any way to move the g/b forward so as far as i can see its you who is sitting on your thumbs not us. the g/b has done all it can with parts and cash deposits to move this along. patience is what we are using now.
it certainly appears that the only negative folks commenting on this g/b are the ones who chose not to buy anything in the first place.
btw theres no special secret list just good folks staying in touch and relaying info as it becomes available.
Now boys don't get your panties in a wad. Anytime I have had any job shop work done with any machine shop you wait your turn. Not the first time I have waited on performance parts Now, if you haven't spent $2 grand like I have I wouldn't worry yourself about my buy. I'm not.
