I'm not sure I agree with Franc on the value of the roadster being higher as time goes on. While the roadsters are twice as rare as the coupe and convertibles are generally more coveted by collectors, the ragtop on the SRT-6 ruins the iconic boat tail lines of the car for me. And I think that is the number one thing people will remember about this car when it reaches classic status, Eric Stoddard's great lines.
I started my SRT-6 shopping fully intending to buy a roadster as a direct replacement for my S2000. But, after seeing a couple I was turned off by the looks. The roadster just lost the unique Crossfire look for me. And I had some practical concerns too. Finding a replacement top in five years for a very limited production car like this could be a PITB and expensive. And I found a few threads on this forum citing recurring problems with the rear glass in the convertible dropping into the trunk. Neither of these considerations would turn off a collector but they pushed me over the edge towards a coupe. On the other hand, I have no doubt that top down driving on a beautiful day would rate a "10" to the coupe's "6".

Thanks guys! I still can't decide--I need more! Simply put was this car built to be a roadster or coupe? SSB and/or Black are my colors with preference to SSB.
I'm buying this car because becuase mainly for appearance, acceleration and handling along with all the other reasons
How much wind noise is there at 100 plus mph with the top up? Is is really loud in there to the point where it sounds rediculous? Also, how easy is the rear glass fix if that happens? What are you guys planning to do about replacing the top 10 years down the road?
The Coupe would look better going down the quarter mile of course. My wife and I are heavy packers and we would take some cross country trips with this car with no more than 2 nights of overnight. I do aniticipate occaisional high speed driving.
Any further help would be great!

Let me help you here....When I modified the roadster, and got her down into the 12.2 bracket, on street tires mind you, I could only do test and tunes nights at the track. NHRA rules will not let a vert compete faster than 13.59....faster than that requires a certified roll cage. I got by until one night, they walked over, poked their head inside, and said "Where's the roll cage?". Thus, the coupe...lol...
Your other concerns, a two night stay even with my wife's packing is doable. I have never had a top problem as it is garaged. You get used to the road noise, as it isn't all that bad. More prevalent on concrete areas of the interstate.

The coupe is quieter, and can carry more ..........BUT....there's nothing like cruising with the top down, flooring it, and listening to that supercharger whine..........
