Default Fueling issues?

What is the cause of the SRT's fueling issues? Has anybody upgraded to an 044 or similar pump using a return style setup and AN lines? The 044 is bigger than a 255, I have one on my mustang. The pump supports ~600HP, and there's always the option to double them up.

There is no return line and none needed. PSI controlls the injector capacity and about 60 - 65 psi should do all thats needed for up to 20 psi boost. Woody

REturn lines heat the fuel and waste pump power.

1. Fuel pressure
2. Boost
3. Injectors

You have to address one of the three to prevent leaning.

1. Increase fuel pressure to counteract elevated boost on the injectors.
2. Reduce boost levels so you don’t need additional fuel pressure to counteract the effects elevated boost has on our injectors.
3. Get larger injectors to offset the elevated boost seen by the injectors.

The SL55 fuel pump does not increase fuel pressure enough to counteract elevated boost on the injectors because it is still governed by our filter/regulator setup.

Exactly, get a separate fuel filter and pressure regulator, its old school but new info to many. Woody

Fuel system upgrade - CrossfireForum.org Gallery

See the last photos, there are others that are thrown in. You see my original factory and the needswings setup, regulator and external filter.

I can go from 0 to 80 psi - not to be done at home, stay around 60 to 65 psi. Located under cover under passenger seat, UNDER CAR.

Where do you have the return line going from the regulator?

Same as stock, the return line runs from the filter/regulator under the the car back into the tank. Instead of the regulator being under the hood it has a long dead head line going to the fuel rail and keeps the return line short. Opposite of your Mustang.

But the one in the picture was in the engine bay? That actually looks like exactly what I was talking about lol, except the fittings look like pipe thread instead of AN.
Woody, did you re-tap your $140 regulator with 3/8 npt? There are fittings that go -6 or -10 (depending on regulator) to 3/8.
