Default What's it worth - xfire?

Hello folks, first time poster here.I've been looking for an srt6 for some time now and recently I found one within a reasonable distance at a dealership.I was wondering if I could get some insight as to what a good price is for one of these nowadays.I've got them down to 15999 from their original asking price of 17999 but thus far the deal breaker has been what they are willing to give me for my trade.they are basically offering me around $1k less than nada trade in value. The car in question is a coupe with 40k a one owner vehicle and Carfax has checked out clean no accidents and no major repair issues only 1 former owner. Also with this many miles is there anything I should expect in the near future for repairs/preventative maintenance.I've tried to research common issues with these cars but haven't seen much of anything.thanks in advance for your input and hopefully I can come to an agreement with the dealership.

see

for things to look for when buying a xfire.

pricing is subjective, but xfires are still a steal. try buying a slk32 for the same $, not gonna happen.

good luck

You really don't have enough specifics here to help..

Car one) the SRT. Milage, condition Where? Yes color.
Car Two) is it an Xfire? what year? color? What model? limited or base? condition overall.

$16k for a low milage SRT6 coupe is quite reasonble. in the middle assuming good condition. Post the VIN and someone may confess to prior ownership or knowledge.
If car two os a n Xfire then we can perhaps help with the exchange rate. In truth, SRT6 doesn't cost much more than an NA but even trades don't make the dealer money.

give us some specifics and you will get an enormous and useful reponse.

sorry for the confusion.the xfire srt6 I'm interested in is located in Rhode Island and is sapphire blue with 40k miles.I wouldn't say its pristine but for its age is in good condition.negative things I noticed was curb rash on the rims,a few scratches on the front and rear bumpers and the passenger side headlight lens cover had some considerable fogging on the upper part (which I thought was strange because the drivers side was perfect). The interior was in excellent shape and seats were like new.I'm trading in what I used as a winter vehicle a 2002 volvo s60 awd with 90k .

My thought is living in a snowy climate, are you getting enough money for your trade-in that makes it worth while OR would you be better off to keep your 'old' car and use it for a winter driver while you pamper the XF in the garage?

The xfire will be garaged and only driven in the good weather.I recently bought a Ford Explorer which I'll use as a winter vehicle in place of the Volvo. From what I've seen these selling for I think 16k is reasonable with 40k but I'm being hard headed on the value of my trade.I also own a 68 International Scout and a 69 Triumph gt6 I made into a convertible.

New England winters,,,,salt and that new nonsalt stuff,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Add 40K miles....$15,500 is about right

I would check the door sills, under neath. There is a sticky "stop the rust while you can" here on that problem.

I don't know much about Volvos except that they are great well built cars that cost too much and depreciate too fast. Like most high end cars. I would say a 10 year old Volvo with 90K on the clock isn't gonna get you to $16K.

Sounds like you have plenty of vehicles so I imagine getting rid of the Volvo is paramount. You're lust for the Crossie has put you between a rock and a hard place.

I suggest you escape from there IN THE SRT6! But then my opinion, although expert, is biased. Disclaimer; I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Take what you can get from the Volvo and as you drive home things will seem better. Whenever you find doubt creeping into your mind, press lightly on the throttle. Such thoughts will spill away off the big wing just behind your ears.

Promise

The trade in issue might sound trivial but basically the volvo should bring about $7k and they are only offering me $6k.I said $6500 and we have a deal and they won't budge on either the 16k sale price of the srt6 or the 6k trade in value of my volvo so now I guess its down to how badly do I want this car.

See if they will sell you the SRT at that price without a trade in. You could probably sell the Volvo on craigs list for trade in value pretty quick.

Yes but two days of stubborness may get you the deal.

There are a few SRT's out there in your area at similar prices. Crossies are hard to sell but take up floor plan costs just the same.

Used Volvos are easy to sell. Especialy in Rhode Island.

From your original post, the dealer is splitting the difference with you. They dropped 2k, but in reality, they aren't putting another 1K in your car. So, you are getting it for 17K...last one I bought, I bought in the middle of winter...15.5 with 22K on the odometer...personally, I wouldn't pay more than 15 for the car...with cosmetic damage, higher mileage, and you know it will need an IC pump, RCM repair, and a CPS...there's a $500 argument with them...On the other hand, there aren't many on the market in your area...might have to drive to get a better deal....good luck either way...we can help you with repair advise and such...that's what this place is all about...helping each other out...

Doesn't matter where you find the car as long as it is the perfect find.
You should find an SRT with less than 33,000 miles on it while never being affraid to wrap it up to the rafters if it sparks your fancy. Every modification Directed at H/P needs to be installed by a wrench that has at lease fourty years experiance. The car should have just enough persnal touches to allow it to stand alone when in a croud. You SRT should be lowered approx. 2" all the way around. High intensity driving lights.Stay away from stpip carrs, nothing wares a care as extensivly as Drag racing as a hobby.
My SRT Is both a Looker and a Runner.
1 full set extra wheels & tires some unrun. 2 engine covers, extra engine covers, extra SRT springs, any part that has been altered on the car you are looking at should be wrapped, boxed and numberedjust as mine are. There should be pieces that hardly ring a bell. Safety belts should include stock and 5 point harnesses.
You know what, the only fast, reliable, personally styled SRT that has pretty much every upgrade. With about $5000. worth of extra parts would be mine and While it would still be considered a bargain with all the extra original parts and an asking price of $19.5K ask the man that hand fit some of the custum

Thank you just take a look.
