Still below the reserve. I will keep my thoughts about the biidding process to myself.

My thoughts are the same as yours, friendly bidders who know the reserve showing the value of the sale.

Apparently this happens quite often.

Wow, I wonder how high the reserve is? He should be happy if he can get $30K. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this car. a Hemi under the hood is very cool. but the amount of work and expense to do this doesn't seem worth the trouble when a MB engine will bolt right in. A n/a 55 would save weight, last longer and out perform this egnine. The MB engine is lighter and in my opinion is better built. The car has a weird stance in the front, but looks like it has a rack and pinion steering which our cars should have come with. The 5.7 he used is nothing very special at 345HP. for the money he wants, he should have used a 6.1 SRT-8 engine. One thing this guy did do was prove you can put a Hemi in a Mercedes.

Hemi engine is cheaper to acqire, cheaper to mod, can make big power, easier to obtain a low mile donor and half of the engine is M-B anyways. There is a local(vegas) guy that did the 5.7swap into his base Crossfire about a year ago. I do agree that he should've used a 6.1 engine even though a 5.7 with heads/cam upgrade will make 6.1 power(if not more).

In my opinion, definately not workth $30k... The fact that the front suspension has also been hacked out and changed with Charger suspension to widen & make it fit scares me.

Definately some inside bidding to make it look like a wanted vehicle.

Which half of the Hemi is MB? I actually considred this swap early on and found it would be much cheaper to go with a MB engine. I realize is sounds more correct to have a Hemi in a Chrysler, but in the case of the Crossfire, the only thing that is Chrysler is the Vin number and a couple of badges. 500 and n/a 55's can be found cheap.

If those bids on the car are for real, the guy needs to lower the reserve right away!

We'll never know. He may just do that. One legit bidder to up it $100 then he'll hope for more bidders near the end.

The block design, twin plugs per cylinder, head bolts(and others I'm sure)............there's a reason why a M-B trans can/does bolt up to it. I've built up a few 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi's and most of the parts come in repackaged; or same package with mopar sticker over it, M-B containers.

I'm sure it will be reListed because of a non Paying Bidder. I feel like it happens a lot with cars on Ebay..
I also dont like the look of the front end.

I wonder if it is possbile to get the hemi in without replacing the whole engine crossmember and front suspension? Maybe w custom oil pan and pick up with some custom motor mounts. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a modded SRT-8 engine a Crossifre, but I would like end up with a something that still looks like a correct Crossfire and not have the front end jack up with an wider track than the rear.

This was a total wasn't it? He may have had front end damage to the extent he had to use other steering. Using what was a available to make a few bucks is fine. My bodyshop buddy use to do this until his business got off the ground. I am sure this wasn't his personal build, but a build to make a few bucks. It is what it is, and someone will soon own it, whatever the price...and just may end up on here... It is different, and who knows what mods the next owner will do, as it WILL be his personal build....

I have to assume the whole front suspension/engine craddle was needed to be changed to fit the engine. The car was totaled but car fax has it as flood damage and there is no record of collision damange.

I appreciate the effort this guy went through and it's amazing, but I agree with only 345 horses it's not worth all that trouble. I do like the seats with the Red inserts and Hemi stitching. I don't think anyone will pay what he is asking for. You can get a SL55 in the high 30's right now. Trust me because I'm looking all the time as that will be my next vehicle

That's exactly what he told us when we meet him in Carlisle.

Maybe I will do some measuring one of these days...........since I have a 5.7 Hemi in my truck and a Crossfire.
