Paddle shifter install instructions completed
The paddle shifter kit is by far the best mod available for the automatic trans. Crossfire (IMO). The LM21 SRT6 pulley belt wrap kit comes in second....tied with the LM21 SRT6 SC pulley scattershield.
I guess I'm a little biased though since I was treated very well and received excellent customer service on every product I bought from the seller. And no I do not receive a commission.

I will agree that I would not call it desirable (adding anything to the "dark current" never is) . However, I'm not sure that I would call this (having the paddle module powered up 24-7) prohibitively UN-desirealbe either.
Let me think about it a bit ... if having your horn available all the time seems important to you then I suppose this should be considered.
Cheers,
Chris

Doing mine backwards. Chris said that these paddles are getting increasingly harder to get hold of as Mercedes are ceasing production of them. So I quickly snapped these up. Now just waiting for the new conversion kit (on the list) once available.<br/>Will still fit the paddles and pretend until the kit turns up lol

just reminds me I still need to move mine out further for my short fingers....lol. It is cool kit, but I forget I have them, being an old stick shift driver, I am always using the stick....
Rather than moving them out wouldnt you be better off buying extensions? will give you more access for little pinkies without having to re cut the wheel.
May put a different wheel on in the future... It isn't a big deal. I don't really use them anyway. Too old school, used to using the stick.
Late model21,the person who started the thread makes and sells this kit. It is a great addition to the car and always gets comments.

I may be wrong 180, but I recall when I read this a couple of years back that Chris told the kit user that they would have to acquire the paddles elsewhere, he didn't have any to sell, just the kit that interfaced the paddles to the shifter electronics.
The paddles cost a lot more than they did when I purchased mine, they are approaching $200 a set now and where just over $100 when we purchased them a few years ago.

The best price right now for the paddles that I find is about $150 a pair shipping included from OE discount parts.com

The kit last sold for $295. Even at that price, it was barely worth my time to manufacture it. I am hoping that I can keep the cost down on the next build to avoid raising the price. If you would like to be notified (at no obligation) by email when the next Kit release is imminent, send me an email (wonwitheverything@yahoo.com) and mention that you want to be added to the SRT6 paddle kit notify list.

The paddleshift kits are back in stock. I made another 50 kits, but they have almost all been spoken for already. There are probably still a few available (and this is likely the last time I will build it). Anyone who wants more info can send me an email at Latemodel21@yahoo.com

Just fitted my paddleshift kit and all I can say is that I am more than happy. Very professional kit that looks OEM when fitted. The builder Chris (Latemodel21) has been beyond helpful and with his updated pictures and instructions make fitting much easier.
I'll second that. just bought my second set, for the new 6, and Chris , as always has been, just the best to work with, plus his products are absolutely top notch. I've recently installed his scatter shield, and belt wrap kit, and both are certainly up to his high standard.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Great working with both of you.
Being a frequent fellow sufferer of Mod-fever, I have witnessed, first-hand, the broad spectrum of quality and support ranging from bad to great (relative to available mods), and I have always made every effort to provide products that bring increased enjoyment and satisfaction (rather than frustration and disappointment). Having said all that, despite my efforts to provide great documentation and support for this product, I will be the first to admit that it is a challenging mod.
and since this is the install instructions thread, I will add the latest version of the instructions. (in 2 parts since it now exceeds this forums file size limit : )
Cheers,
Chris
