So THIS is what power feels like...
Christmas came early
Picked up my new Graphite SRT-6 coupe today... Already got a healthy mod list going on this one, and if you guys know anything about me, expect that to only grow.
Currently it has the single NW intake, new Eurocharged 65mm supercharger pulley, Eurocharged tune, Johnson CM30 pump, and the Walbro fuel pump.
Within the next week or two, doing the pulley saver kit and the NW catch-can.
Current plan for rolling stock is to put fresh meats on the Mandrus wheels I had on my last one, and roll those for a bit. Lighter ones in store, but that's down the road.
THE. POWER. IS. INTOXICATING.
Already edumacated a Mustang with a mondo-huge cowl hood on the way back from Knoxville... I REALLY tried ignoring him, but, like a mosquito drawn to a UV light, he kept goading me for a duel. A slight increase in pressure from my right toe quickly dispatched the multicolored pony. He gave the thumbs-up, and fell back. I enjoyed a peaceful ride home the remaining 40 miles.
I bought this from a fellow forum member, so in respect to JHM2K's privacy clause #72 I will not disclose my deal that I got. Let's just say I am forever grateful that he made the decision "to buy a Limited for similar money" an unforgivable blunder that I simply could not carry out. His one request was that I keep him updated on the progress and send him footage of me getting point-by's from Porsches on the road course
Pics to come, but it basically is indiscernible (for now) from a stock graphite SRT coupe on the outside.
It's good to be "one of 2,016"

Thanks guys.
It's strange, because before I ever was a Crossfire owner, I wanted a Graphite SRT Coupe. They were simply, in 2009, out of reach.
I bought the white one because it contained everything a SRT didn't have: white paint, manual trans, and gorgeous interior, and an $11,000 price tag. I made it work, and made a beauty of it. A slow beauty, but a beauty. It gave me keys to a Crossfire, my Crossfire -- the access to a scarce car that provided a great deal of enjoyment and conversation over the years. I learned a lot in owning it.
I love this SRT because it does everything the N/A could only dream of. In respect for whitey I would like to say I traded style for function... but based on the rubber-necks I got on the drive home, that simply isn't so.
It's quite different, the attitudes between the two cars. The white was was an agile bantamweight, high on puff and visual appeal, light on its feet and light on punch. This SRT is the sinister man in the corner -- not as nimble and precise -- but a one-hit-champion... a steel fist in a velvet glove. No, make that an Alcantara glove
I've caught myself patting the floorboard with my left foot on several occasions -- old habits die hard. My index fingers will have to learn a new habit: "Click, click, click"

Congrats on the new machine. I was really hoping you'd get an SRT6, so this is great news for sure. When you get tired of taking all those turns at the road courses, meet up with Steve and me at the 1/4 and kick some ***.

A run to BG is definitely in store... Who knows, I might get another one of those .10 reaction times...
Steve thinks it's a low-12 car as it sits... with driver mod, of course. Tires are poo on this one, but I plan to remedy that soon.

This is going to be interesting to lots of members. It's hard to put your finger on just how intoxicating the SRT-6 is and communicate it. So far your doing well. Any road course is completely different too. Now you have to worry about spinning out of the corners. As far as which color is best, at light speed they're all a blur and they're all the color of power. Enjoy it and I'm looking forward to seeing the subtle changes you make.

got to see johns car first hand. well taken care of nicely modded priced to sell. a leathal combination! the nice thing about buying a modded car is that john can concentrate on the suspension and interior. i have no doubt les's roadcourse videos will be john's **** for the next few months!
i dare say johns trip to the dragon will have a whole new meaning this spring! ( btw he already has a 4 piston front setup! just needs the 2 peice rotors to finish it out) congrats john!
Is the car lowered? Edit ....... hold tongue, get lots of seat time and let an instructor evaluate your car first. In no time you'll be doing battle with "well driven" Porsches, Corvettes, 2011 and up Mustangs ...... GTR's need a few more mods.
I recommend this because I know the difference between a well driven SRT-6 and poorly driven one
(memories) and the difference is huge. In any case, you're going to be thrilled every day with that supercharged beast.
I can hear the PA now, in 3rd place, in 2nd place and beaten by a Chrysler .... that's right, a Chrysler! That's gotta hurt. Do you feel like putting the hurt on?

Les, this is truly going to be an adjustment on the road course, as with the white one I could jump on the throttle MUCH sooner than most faster cars, and this gave me a slight edge in the technical portions. Once we hit straights, whatever ground I had gained was quickly forfeited.
Won't be so with this beast. Brakes are going to be upgraded in short order on this ride...
Steve, thank you for all the help in scouting this one, and for the encouragement to ditch the third pedal. It'll be a fun ride.
JHM2K - Have you ever driven a stock SRT-6? Jumping straight from limited to a modded 6 must have felt like going from roller skates to a rocket ship. Enjoy.
Can your rims handle 305/30s on the back? That is what's really needed to transfer the power on the straights and not break loose in the twisties. That, and it kinda slightly softens the rear end ride. Very jealous you got one all modded out. Have fun, be safe, and enjoy the car.
For road courses the wider the rear tires the less negative camber you'll need too, especially with a 30 or 35 profile tire.
Your power mods are basically the same as mine and I ran a 12.2 in Atari mode on a Mustang dyno!
I still haven't learned to put the power down in the 1/4 mile in real life.

I still stab away with the left foot when I go to start the new car, old habits die hard.
With just the NW single CAI I find the car a bit tamer than I thought it would be, but when the pedal goes down and that whine is heard you know this ain't plain ol' tomato juice, more like V8.
I will remove the CAI as I like the stock look, at least for a while.
