Default TCU and Rev Limiter

This is not a dig at Eurocharged or anything they do, EU is a great group of guys who put out excellent products. I have the EU TCU tune. I really like the added torque that the tune obviously provides and selected the tune to support holding gear during autocross and track day events. I am having a bit of an issue with the tune and am now leaning toward going back to a stock TCU tune for the safety of the car, until EU gets it sorted out.

First my car does not hold gear correctly in manual/winter mode. I find that if I run the car up to 4500 RPM and let off for a turn, rather then holding gear to assist with grip and exit speed the car will up shift.

Second, in Summer mode my car will bounce off the rev limiter prior to shifting when driven hard. This occurs at 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 gear changes. I must always shift the car to keep it off the rev limiter when driving hard.

I don't drive the car often but when I do, I am always near the red line. Anyone else with a TCU tune who drives "HARD" have issues with the TCU action? Thanks

Are there very few TCU tuned Crossfires? Is no one else having TCU performance issues?

You are not alone. I'm having a different set of issues with the TCU that prohibit WOT. I have not had time to coordinate the remedy with EC but they have been informed.

I bought the paddle shifter kit from 21 with this TCU reflash in mind. Really hoping the bugs get worked out!

This is good timing for me. I was almost ready to get this done. Maybe I'll wait a while...

Got an email from Eurocharged today saying that they have the issue worked out. I let you know what happens.

My guess is thier fix isn't working, I have sent two emails to eurocharged without receiving a reply.

Steve - My car is dis-assembled at the moment so no issue, see you Saturday.

I'm so pumped about getting this mod with a re-tune, but glad I did not rush into it based on comments here.

When the kinks are worked out... it will be awesommmeeeeeee!!!

I too am having "bouncing off revv limiter" issues as well with my tuned TCU. I have run it once at the track since the mod and it bounced off limiter on both of my passes in 2-3 and 3-4 shifts which (obviously)slowed my times. I didn't bother notifying EC since they didn't bother to answer the last two PM's and texts I sent them. I'm hoping to head back to the track next Friday(2/10) and run some passes with datalogs to see exactly what's going on.

The TCU tune is worth it... once they get it fixed, but it definetly releases some torque number that you can tell without even being on a dyno.
Mopar- im the same as you, ive been trying for 11's but I dont think ill get it untill either 1. the TCU is fixed to not hit the limiter or 2. it gets really chilly one night

Question Re: TCU and Rev Limiter

Friends, could you answer on my question.
As everybody knows we have 5-gear automatic transmission but in manual mode we can use only 4 gears ... Is some special idea take place? Could we use 5 gears in M mode? I find this strange and little bit stupid.

Thanks!

why do you think you cant use od? i works fine in mine.
moparburst the bouncing is causing a high afr spike during the shift lag. 20+ . jerry is adding the v3 to mine for datalogging. it reduced the tcu rev limits to 6200 and inc the torque limiters to 1000 newtons as well as adding the amg speedshift. it should hold gear at top rpm during m mode and fix the bouncing of the limiter. ill know monday when it shows up

It`s great that TCU works well. My question was about numbers of gears in gearbox. Is it all right that we can use from 1st to 4th in manual mode, and where is the 5th one?
Sorry if it difficult to understand my english.

Make sure the switch by the shift lever is in "S" position, not "W" position.
"W" position causes only 2-5 to work, "S" has all 1-5 gears.

("W"inter position is so you have less rear wheel torque when starting off in icy conditions )

So maybe anything wrong with my tranny? In S mode I have only 1-4... what could it be.
But my srt still accelerate up 160 without problems

when in manual mode you will not see a 5 appear when shifting... only 1-2-3-4-D.... when it hits D that is 5th gear...
