Default Just a tune

I want a blend of speed, resale, reliability and cost. I'm considering an EC tune only now. My mods are NW single with a k&n extreme filter. Resonator is gone too. Car seems strong with 48k miles.

What can I expect on an Illinois drag strip in 60 degree weather in terms of quarter mile times if I take this route? I have the conti tires for now.

Thanks.

You should see close to mid 12's for sure. And I too currently have 48k miles on her.

^ ditto. If you can put the power down mid 12's. On the tires you are on it might be difficult. Unless you're a seasoned drag racer.

I was running 12.4x's on street tires with 185 pulley, one of the first gen SRT6 EC tune years ago, and street tires. I have a feeling that mid 12s are definitely possible.

I watched one of our members, Chuk, turn a 12.7 at Orlando Speed World with just a Needswings CAI and street tires.

Let's see who hits 50k first this summer. Funny thing is, my car is better today than the day I got it with 45k on it so I'm good.

So about 12.7 is a safe assumption under good conditions and decent driving? I really wish some one could help me make up my mind.

A pulley, cooling and tires are as far as I'd take this car. So in the grand scheme it's not that much more to just do it all?

I'm sorry to sound like a noob but I can't find too many posts about a tune only. Do we conclude that a good tune is safe for the longevity if the motor?

I would say yes, since our motors are built tough. A tune will will wake her up for sure and increase your fuel mileage too.

adding the ECU tune will add wheel spin and adding the DCAI will add more wheel spin....

Takes away a bit of the fun or not?i must admit that the EC sc is a real treat. The added power is amazing. But need to be a good balance... Would you consider the tune or dcai first?

DCAI is the one I'd do first.

Be careful FUBU. If you decide to do both, you'll have to wear big boy pants all the time.

Haha I'll better start making me a pair then. then ill be happy pants aswell. I find the balance with the EC sc to be quite adequate. But dcai with x3m filters is probably a must. Then tune to get the fuel efficiency...
Is the 799 USD dcai good enough or do you need the fancy ones?As I have black engine compartment I guess black pipes will look best...
