Default Chrysler being nice to Mercedes?

A few days ago, I read that the SRT-6 has the same exact horsepower as the SLK32 on the dyno. This means that Chrysler is just saying that their engine is detuned, but the car is really just the same (horsepowerwise) as the SLK32. Any thoughts?

It's just another Mercedes in sheeps clothing. In other words, it's just a SLK32 with the crossfire outer shell and that ugly fixed wing they added to it.

Did you really expect anymore considering the regualr crossfire is a SLK320 in sheeps clothing?

I bet the only difference between the slk32 and the SRT-6 is that AMG will not hand build the engines and they will just be assembled by an outsourcer like the current crossfire is.

I think they have extra AMG engines and it more practical for to keep using AMG less problems !!Less retooling .

Default I heard the Crossfire was heavier than the Mercedes SLK

By somewhere around 1,000 pounds, the Crossfire is heavier and detuned according to my friendly technician. I will talk to him more, but he said that for eco-friendly emissions, the car is detuned to have less horsepower on all models.

detuned huh - the numer are close - he is probably correct - likely it is the tuned exhaust and bigger wheels we use, either way you are going to get it back after chipping... oh yeah and we are only 20lbs more than the SLK32. It is so obvious that they only did body kits on our cars...

It should not bug the AMG guys becuase next year they move to new platforms - the SLK and the AMG version look cool and have more power....
