Bikes! Yikes!
Raced a custom V-Twin sport bike last nite.
It was dead even all the way. Nobody won.
I don't have any info on the bikes specs. Bike and rider were dressed in bright colors. I'm glad it wasn't a Ninja ZX-14.
I think he liked the car and gave a thumbs up.
You guy's encountering bikes out there?

Out of the light, most bikes will beat most cars. It's just a power to weigh ratio thing. There are some, I think, obvious givens to that ... a Harley up against an AMG, M5 or something like that - the bike probably gets smoked (depending on the driver). Pretty much any sport bike up against any car, the bike has it.
Once you're rolling, especially if you're getting into triple digit speeds, things even out ... and it takes a lot more ***** to get up into 140+ mph on a bike ...
The other factor is cost. For a car to have the kind of horsepower to weight ratio of a $5,000 sport bike, you'd likely be spending tens of thousands of dollars.
To maximize your fun, I highly recommend owning at least one of each!!

No offense here but can a stock Harley beat a Camry?
I could be wrong, I just haven't equated them with blazing acceleration.

My slightly modified Bandit 1250 finishes the 1/4 mile about the time most cars are at the 1/8 mile mark. 0 to 62 mph bone stock is 3.1 seconds. My best time corrected for altitude 10.50 @ 128 mph.
My xfire is a beauty, very classy..... But once I got the R6 I realized why people said its so slow. 0-100 on it is only 1st and 2nd, and it screams the whole way there in a matter of no time at all. Definately eats the NA crossie, and more than likely an SRT if I had the skill and ***** to go all out.
My Kaw's didn't ever have a problem with a car....but the Harley, she is for looks, not racin', but hey, I had to play...lol Now the old Harley is getting a nitrous kit this winter for ***** and giggles.... Nothing drastic, more for show..... Bikes and cars, aren't usually much of a big deal... My old Kaw Eliminator, was 0-60 in 2.2 secounds, and did the 1/4 in low 10's, those were the days...wish I had here back...
[quote=The Beep;680863]You just need to come race the old Harley and see. Bring your Camry.... The last guy who wanted to race the Harley lost. Full blown Mustang....He didn't realize the race was down and back on our street....lol.....
A stock Harley will still beat most cars, off the line ... power to weight ratio. If someone wants to keep going and gets up over 100, most Harley's are going to run out pretty quick. My 02 Wide Glide won't do much better than 105, maybe 110. ... which is fine, because I really can't see any more by then.
Thats what I did!

As fast as my XF is, my MV Agusta is simply frightening.
My Yamaha, on the other hand, is a snail. But it's still fun.

Raced a new bike today, sometimes it is even sometimes they win but they always get surprised that the cars is almost about to spank them. Plus, I am always a bit afraid of the bikers swithwing lanes and not knowing we are there... So I stick to race cars..
Those types are called idiots... I check my mirror, signal, over the shoulder twice real quick (to make sure I dont rear end someone at the same time) then gas a tiny bit and move over. Ive seen too many people either hit cars or get hit by cars.... You can never be too cautious, especially on a bike.
