New mods: SC pulley & LSD
Hey there -- we're back from Iceland and Finland.
Anyway, the installation done while I was gone: Eurocharged SC pulley and WaveTrac LSD.
WaveTrac LSD: completely awesome
I notice the LSD during medium-hard acceleration from a stop sign turning right or left. No more engine cutting out as the inner wheel slips. I tend not to do seriously hard (high rev, drop the "clutch"/brake on) straight ahead kind of acceleration, so I've not left two tire marks behind me. Told the wife I had to have the LSD for driving in the snow this winter (we just moved from San Antonio to Niagara Falls).
Eurocharged supercharger pulley: semi-awesome (but not the pulley's fault)
The SC pulley works fine and makes a noticeable difference. A bit more eager in the 2000-3000 rpm range; after that I can't tell the difference. There is a slightly more noticeable step up in power when the supercharger kicks in (not huge, just a very minor jolt sometimes). The bad news: the supercharger doesn't always engage now. The symptoms point to the intercooler -- the SC always engages early in the driving cycle, then intermittantly after extended highway driving and/or hard acceleration runs on freeway ramps. To be honest, I probably haven't done much high intensity driving the past few months, with the move and a new job. Thus, there is every possibility the I/C pump is out (fuse #13 was good). Neglected to tell the wife about this mod.
Planning to go ahead with the Eurocharged ECU tune on Friday afternoon...
