Default Lowered rear only with KW JUNK coil overs whata joke

with K W's and at the highest point,, it is Actually too low for me, even though the front went up almost an inch,, I am running 285 35 19's on the rear and stock on the front.. I did a test with 200 lbs of sand to find how much i wanted it lowered. spoke to Renntech early today and they like what they see they have a 3/4" spacer that can go on top of the KW adjuster then i will have 2 1/2" of adjustment, tomorrow i will install a stock size tire and see what it will look like. . jim

PS that is reflection over the tire on the fender.

How did the instal go? I think it looks great but ...... function first. I used a rubber spacer sliced out of an old spring pad. It made me nervous though.

the install is easy 1/2 hour, because i have all adjustments links,,,I removed the lower shock bolt and the sway bar bolt and out comes the spring installed the new one.

mike it is not lower than the Areo but the 285 35 19 tire makes it look low . i will measure the finder to the ground today also put my 26" tire on it. jim

the better launch,, to do that i have to balance the car,, I do need to raise the rear about 3/4" but the KW's are at their limits,, now that i have the KW's I don't like them. for $2000.00 they don't work,, when you have to remove the spring to adjust them " something is wrong" they say their adjustable "there not" when they say you can adjust the height and the spring rate "you can not. so to me, the KW so called coilovers are crap.

if someone made a coil over shock that installed upside down so the spring and the adjustment would be on the bottom like all coil overs we know, then they could call it coi overs for a Crossfire.

For adjustability, they FAIL. You have to compress the spring to access the adjustable spring perch. The box says coil overs but they are springs, adjustable spring perches and Koni shocks. It is labor intensive and time consuming to adjust the height and or corner weights. I love mine but can agree that for the money, the difficulty of adjustment is a nasty surprise. That said, take the time and effort to balance the car with them. You'll be glad you did even if you keep cussing the design and expense.

I was always wondering about this... I have read coil overs, the picture on KW website shows coil overs, but every pic of your car Les has a seperate spring and shock. Now I understand what is going on here with KW. Sorry to hear about the frustration Jim.....

The link below is a group pictures that I just took, the Hankook tires are 285 35 19, which are 27.3 tall, stock height is 26, the Mickey Thompson tire that you see is 26 inches tall. As you look at the spring at the very top of it you will see something that is purple, that's the adjuster, to adjust it you must collapse the spring is stupid or what. KW really screwed up on this, for $2000 which is what I paid, I could have somebody make me something that would work.I've only installed rear, I may never install the front, will see, anyway here's the pictures so you can decide whether you want to than $2000 and have a piece of junk or whether you just leave it alone like it is. jim
