Default Driver's Dash Access

I'm trying to access the driver's side dash panel on my 2005 SRT6 Roadster. I have looked in the service manual as well as other threads. It would seem to remove the light gray panel in the attached pic would be a simple matter. This light gray panel does not seem to show up anywhere in the service manual. Only advice there is removing the entire lower dash panel. And there is no advice about how to get the light gray panel off. Anyone had experience with this?

It seems you are trying to remove the "knee bolster". Try reading this thread and see if it has the information you are looking for. Start at the 1st post.

Good luck!

Thanks. Looks like I was barking up the wrong tree. Knee Bolster doesn't bother me. I was looking for simple dash access and I now see that removing Knee Bolster won't do that. Does the flat panel under the dash come off without removing the whole lower dash panel. Looks like only 3 or 4 screws hold it in? Thanks for your help in keeping me on right track.

LOWER I/P PANEL LEFT

1. Remove the driver knee blocker airbag.
2. Remove the air nozzle and the screw behind the nozzle.
3. Remove the screw (3) attaching the cover under the steering column then remove the cover (2).
4. Remove the fuse panel cover.
5. Remove the screws (1) attaching the lower instrument cover (5) to the illumination control module (4) and the side of the instrument panel to the support bar (6). Remove the screw at the top of lower cover to cluster cover.
6. Remove the illumination control module (7).
7. Pull the lower instrument cover (2) off of the cluster cover.
8. Remove the screw (2) attaching the hood latch release handle bezel to the lower instrument panel and then guide the handle through the lower cover (1).
9. Separate the lower panel (2) from the cluster cover (1) and then remove the lower instrument panel.
