Stock srt6 dragstrip runs
Went to the dradstrip with my stock srt6 coupe the other day. Two good runs and one not so good run.
First pass was
13.6668 @ 104.55
Second pass( forgot to turn off traction control)
14.2212 @ 104.07
Third pass
13.6592 @106.64
Had fun for sure, and wanted some baseline numbers before all the mods start! As a side note my dad went with me and made a run in the srt! He ran a 14.09 @106.89(smoked the tires a lil on take off).
Overall i am very pleased with the stock perfomance of the srt!

Most all the magazine road tests for the SRT6 back in 2005, were usually around 13.3 sec.
Sounds like with a little practice you'll be able to cut a few more 10ths. off your time.
Some tracks are faster than others too, lot's of variables involved.

Yes i did try that and thats how the two 13.6 runs were made! Practice, practice, and more practice!
I went online to car and driver and road and track before going to the strip. The best time was 13.5seconds and 0-60mph was 5.0seconds! So i felt i did pretty good considering i'm no pro, and i agree tracks are different and prepared different!

I know that humidity, sea level, temperature, tire press., and coolant temp play a huge role in drag strip performance! I didnt manual shift (just put it in "d" and drove), or play with the tire pressure! I did have a lot of fun though! looking forward to going again soon..maybe end of sept. when the weather is cooler! I did notice the strip was slipperier than the street as i'm not running sticky tires, so easing out of the hole is defineately the way to go!
Looks like you've made some significant improvements to get 352 r.w.h.p.!! Good job! Been to the strip with that combo yet? what did it run if so?
Not yet. The last time at the strip I couldn't hook up at all. I ran 12.7 at 113. My car does 11.9 on the dyno 1/4 mile simulator but I don't have the skills to come close in real life. I'm more of a road racer actually ..... I passed (and pissed off) a fairly well driven Porsche Turbo at the last track day.

Car and Driver got a 13.5 with a coupe, Road and Track ran a 13.3 in a roadster. That's the best time I remember reading.
The only stock coupe I ever took through the 1/4 on hot day was Matt's black coupe. Stock, I was able to get her down to 13.1, but I don't remember the mph...he could tell you....I was hoping to get him into the 12's stock, but that didn't happen...My roadster broke the 12's with a single CAI... good luck with the modding....
Dont forget to put it is first gear and TC off....then just get it rolling and then mash the pedal to the floor.... It will run all gears to red line and shift...

Thanks!
Let me get this straight, if i put it in first(1) manually ease out, then drop the hammer, the car will go to redline and shift by its self, or i have to bump it up a gear each time?
traction control off. put it in 1st, pull up to the staging lights, once staged brake torque to 1500 rpms, launch by foot to the floor releasing brakes at the same time. The car will shift even if you don't although when it shifts I pop that gear, it shifts I pop the next gear, and you should cross the finish as it hits 4th...I do a short burn out to clean the tires prior to staging... Just takes a few practice runs for you to get it done...

that's it....I just do it so if something were to happen, I am in the correct gear if I have to let off the throttle for some reason... have fun...you can get it down a few more tenths with a little practice...
So even though you pop to the next gear it doesnt shift to that gear right awaty because the pedal is floored!?!?
Considering you ran in August during the hot months, the time is about right. Try it out in cooler weather and you should drop a few more tenths, if you still have it stock to compare.
