Default Noob here - just picked up an 05' SRT - need your help :)

Hi everybody, I started browsing this forum just a week or so ago when I set my eyes on a black SRT that I was able to find fairly locally - so hard to find a good deal on these since they are so damn rare.. not that I'm complaining now . Need to fix a few small cosmetic things, nothing major - it's definitely worth it because I got a really good deal on it. Test drive was great, probably a bit faster than I expected it to be in stock form. Well I buy the car and lord behold, the supercharger stops doing the kicking in/out. So glad I read about the IC pump issue, otherwise I'd be pooping my pants on the drive back lol. I just wanted to confirm that this is the right one (I realize c30 pump flows more and last longer, but I'm okay with Bosch for now). Also do I need to splice wires or is it the same connector? I assume I don't need anything else such as another connector to install?

I'm probably going to get the needswings intake, do a custom exhaust, insulation kit and hold off on the pulley/tune until later.. still got a bad taste in my mouth after tuning my Volvo S60R which didn't like it very much . Anything else basic you'd recommend?

Snapped a quick pic of the SRT at the dealership so pardon the iPhone quality and some of my old cars below.

04' Volvo S60R - around 360hp at the crank, never took it to the dyno
Check out the acceleration run with the speedo/boost gauge shown

And a video of the 3" custom exhaust, man I miss that sound (I was a big time Volvo fan boy lol)

Won't be doing this in the SRT

All the help will be greatly appreciated!

Here's the Bosch part number for the IC Pump

I went with the CM30 on my SLK32 and have had no problems.

I believe I read that the bosch pump ending with 02 was the original and the one ended at 10 was a newer version? I pulled the trigger on the one ending with 02.. I assume it will fit?

Needwings catch can in somthing you might want to look into along with the isolation kit. New set of rear tires are always good to have for spares.
Where are you located?

The original ended in 03 and is the one that breaks prematurely. The 10 is the good one that's a direct replacement. I hope the 02 works out for you.

Start with an intake, have some fun listening to the SC whine, then decide if all the other stuff is really necessary. There isn't a big need to play with your exhaust. You should really go for the SC pulley/tune combo if you want to unleash the beast inside!!! I went to the track last night and ran 12.85, 12.86, 12.90, 12.91 between 109 & 110 MPH with just a SCAI. The DCAI gives you a little more flow, low end grunt, and symmetry when you pop your hood(you know you can raise to 90 degrees, right?). Had a great time when the gf asked when I would start bracket racing!!!! These cars are consistent in the 1/4 mile as long as you are too. Have fun with your new ride and welcome to our obsessed community. You have 1 of 2016 coupes made(less now after wrecks and fires), so treat it right. Glad you switched from rice to sauerkraut!!!!

Thanks for all the replies, the intake is definitely coming in the near future. I think I'm going to go ahead and order the correct stock pump. My last question is how much coolant should I expect to lose during the install? I assume I can pick some up from MB dealership, which I'd like to do prior to install of course.

If he left the Volvo, wouldn't he be switching from, say, meatballs to sauerkraut?

You will lose about 2 quarts or less I just did the pump swap to a cm30, and it was pretty easy! you can catch the fluid and strain through a coffee filter and put back in the system as I did!
As far as mods go, the coolant separation kit and the oil catch can from needswings would be a worthy first investment!
Cruise around this forum not just the srt thread for lots of information on things you can do! You will find some of the nicest and most helpful people on this forum!
Congrats on the purchase and Welcome to the forum, you're gonna have a lot of fun now!

Lol I guess it might be meatballs with rice to sauerkraut. Geez, not I'm hungry . Took some more pics, still iPhone as I can't find my camera charger but it's fairly decent during the day.

I just got this pump from Amazon.com
Amazon Amazon

$115.00 + Shipping

On the install if you pinch off both hoses with needle nose vise grips you won't lose any fluid.

This is one of the most helpful forums I've ever been on . I think it's because we all love these cars.

Try not to get any speeding tickets and hold on!

Good Luck!! I know a guy who has your twin (ME). Agreed, you have the best color. Got mine a few weeks ago and I still have a grin on my face.

It's a very comfortable car and is awesome in the rain/snow but the reliability is not that great to say the least. Problem areas are the AWD transfer case, struts (has magnetic adjustable suspension = expensive), and many more. They did tank in value so if you find a clean one with extended warranty, I'd go for it. swedespeed is your best bet to read up on the R. The turning radius is 42 feet , I always got dumb looks from people in the parking lots when they had to back up for me to make the turn lol.

love the R but I'd be looking more for a cheap V70 wagon or maybe 245
