Default Advice requested

I'm currently lloking @ a 2005 SRT6 with 82,000 miles. I had a Chrsyler mechanic look @ it and he did notice a slight oil seep.

What else should we be looking for? Any other trouble spots?

The asking price is $13K. Is that reasonable?

Thanks,

Pat

13k for an srt is cheap in my opinion. It is a buyers market.
All the obvious used car stuff is the same. Look it over good.
If you use the search feature you can find lots of info on common problems and how to fix them.
Parts are not cheap. Sometimes it can be cheaper to buy the best example you can afford.
Good luck in your search and I would reccomened checking out the private cars for sale area here on the forum.
If you buy one off a member you may be able to get more history on the car.

Where is the oil seep? I am going to guess from the valve cover in which case it is a null issue.

Follow the link posted up above concerning the issues.

Also check

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...crossfire.html

Where is the car located? It may have been owned previously by a forum member. check the VIN against the SRT6 database

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...rmat-file.html

As for price, I'd check Used Cars, New Cars, Reviews, Photos and Opinions - CarGurus

Good luck

13k seems like an average price considering the milage, id see if you could get it down ot 12k and pull the trigger

A transmission fluid leak and the IC pump were both fixed under warranty. With an 82K milage car, what kind of yearly maintenance costs are we looking at?

Thanks again, everybody.....

I looked at 3 different srt's before I bought mine. Two had water leaks coming through the wing panel where it is attached to the car. Make sure there is no sign of water under the panel that covers the flat tire pump. If you see any sign of moisture there, go further to make sure there is no water in the area that holds the power door lock actuator. I still bought one of the cars w/water leaks because the price for the car was great. I fixed the problems and it cost about $500. It would have cost more except the XF Forum gave me great advice and I was able to buy some parts that saved big $ from members of the XF Forum. With that kind of miles on it one thing you should do if you are not sure it hasn't been done it to change the filter/fluid in the transmission. I believe it is supposed to be changed at 80k miles. It is a great car. I hope you get one that doesn't need much.

Thanks for your help everyone. A local (LA) mechanic will look @ the car on Tuesday and if all goes well, I'll pull the trigger on Wednesday.....
