Default SRT exhaust

Drove a SRT, the exhaust sounds more robust... Might just try to find one of these instead of Borla or other for my regular Xfire...
Looks like the muffler has less baffles (no double loops)

and upstream there is a resonator? whereas the normal car has none.

It sure LOOKS less restrictive. Do keep us informed, it might be a more cost effective mod to use Chrysler parts vs. aftermarket parts.

After looking into this deeper I gander that the SRT-6 exhaust is just a copy of the one on the SLK32.

The problem is that the SLK32 "upgrades include a high-flow low-back-pressure exhaust system" which means we will a ton of torque on the bottom end. It looks like our only choices for a catback system is going to be the Eisenhaus or Borla catback.

high flow = low back pressure. Isn't that what Eisenhaus or Borla does? All low restriction exhaust system will give you more hp at the high end with some loss of torque at the low end. The trick is to balance the two effects...Unless you can come up with a variable baffle systemmmI think the Maxima had something like that...

IMO I don't think you'll lose a TON of torque...

Exactly - balance and design. This one was designed for a 330hp setup that has a ton of low end torque by design. Ours is another story. I would worry more about a torqure curve than a 5% gain on the top end. My hope is that someone makes and exhaust that sounds better, covers up the valve sound and helps the torque curve rather than hamper it.

p.s. low end torque is where the fun is.
