Ay, chihuahua
Well I did the testing on the water tank and the leaks between the water tank ( while pressurized to 25 PSIG ) and the air path filled with fluid to indicate the relative leakage in this Frankencooler of an IC.
I was suprised and you can get lots of info on the problems with the tank leaks.
Discalimer: THis IC was sectioned and cut apart to examine the inside passages. It was TIGGED back together without regard to the operating temperature and stresses caused by the welding. THis really stressed the core and made the leaks worse, but you get the ideas.
After the camera was switched off, I drained the lacquer thinner out to find that it was way dirty.. I had previously washed with HOT water, a sprayer and soap solution. The color of the thinner was a dark brown due to deposits STILL in the core. I had also used a strong aluminum cleaner, and yet the thinner was dark, WOW. I thought that the core ends were really clean, suprise suprise suprise. Thanks Gomer.
First video is the checking water tank leaks, second video shows leaks between the water tank to the air path of the IC.
Enjoy, Woody

Here is more information on the frankencooler. I have done a pressure test up to 100 psig, some three times the maximum working pressure of a stock (30 psig) intercooler in the factory design.
That high pressure level caused some more issues with my welding of aluminum the case.
Not withstanding these leaks, The core is working to my level interest and now I will be hooking it to my car to show the water restrictions or the stock and parallel Garrett intercooler unit.
I did this in water to confirm the cores integrity at up to 100 psig after reworking it and now will use it to actually measure the water flow in gallons per minute.
This is the original IC that I have cut up and played with.
Enjoy the weekend. Woody

When 100psi of air is let loose it explodes violently, test it with a simple hydraulic pump with water instead of air. That set up could kill you.
Water under 100psi will go off very lightly by comparison.
Thank you, I am well aware of the benefits of hydrostatic testing, I did not want to contaminate the shell with water YET. Much more testing to be done, this Cadaver is not dead yet, just the head. Woody stay tuned.
