One way to reduce heat would be to build a core which is cooled down by two peltier elements. Our alternator is rated to 120A, each element would require about 40A meaning that we would need a new alternator that is capable of delivering 200A. The we can easily go under ambitient

The peltier elements do not provide cooling, they transport heat with a LOT of electron flow. They move or pump heat from one place to another and if you dont have a radiator surface capable of expelling this heat your not going to move much heat. Worse is that in your suggestion the 80 amps of current consume 1000 watts, 1.5 HP and add to the heat that your hoping to remove.

I have seen these used commercially in wine cabinet coolers WITH a pair of fans and auto drink coolers that barely cool sodas enough make it worth. If you stack them 5 or 6 elements high you can get low temperatures for infrared camera work or seeker heads for missiles. They have their place in electronics but nothing close to the 50,000-80,000 BTUs we are needing.

Well, the heat is there, so we are all on an even playing field in competition. I just like the idea of having a viable replacement when my 2 crap out....keep up the good work Rudy. Woody, loving your research as well...

Yes peltiers have a long way to go.
Consider your CPU in your computer - when overclockers crank these - 1.5" x 1.5" runs at 100W and extract maybe half that and $/kW pumped is very high.

I recall looking at these as a method to recover low grade waste heat from processes.
Waste heat recovery is the next big thing.
World wide most boilers/generators dispell at least 30% of their energy through the stack as waste heat and/or steam/humidity. Furnaces without waste gas generators throw away even more.
Peltiers are a means - lets look forward to their development over the next 10-20yrs.

PS - I think BMW are recovering waste heat from their latest concept vehicles.....maybe need to refresh a lit survey.

I tried to explain to you why the two runs, which is hardly "over and over again", were not a good test, but you didn't want to listen. Unfortunately, I have to wait until the track reopens in the spring to get a good test. But I will, and I will post more data for everyone's benefit. Something you have yet to do.

You can get a cheaper one - but they only do fine stuff at 55inH2O (2psi)

Daugh, I have one of those in the office and never thought to use it, too many tools to remember what I got, oh well. I have more testing to do and will get the digital gauge tomorrow, thanks for the mental nudge. Wdy

As far as doors go, I had to solve my issue in a different manner, Enjoy.

Took me 51 weeks from permit to completion to build this 6 car garage.
