Need some help on the race car
Most people can easily lose 10 to 15 lbs without a sweat, Paul Tracy lost lots of time due to his weight in the Indy cars.
Danica Patrick had the advantage there and easy on the eyes as well.
There is weight adjustment these days to square the odds a little, too late for Tracy.

LOL,, but I had the car corner balanced, it doesn't push like before,, ask the guys at the dragon, i was doing great, and didn't do any drifting this year, (drifting into the other lane I mean) jim
Im assuming you already removed the climate control unit, did you also remove the ac compressor, condensor and associated hoses/tubing? How about all the egr/secondary air injection valves, tubing and other associated parts? Im sure you couldnt care less about a check engine light, performance shouldnt be hindered with removal of that crap.
Any extra wiring for things you arent using (ie: power seats/windows, radio, amplifier, etc.) can remove small amounts but it adds up.
Just some thoughts.

My point was that we have people buying smaller batteries and CF hoods to save weight but they forget to stand on the scales and see some extra weight they drag around all the time.
This post has not elicited any concrete weight savings beyond that which is obvious, mine still stands as the most obvious weight savings and coupled with a fitness scheme it would be of great benefit to racers.
Except for my tongue in cheek posts and replies to some posts, I try to make my posts informative. In fact your post on MBC's had only one useful reply, mine. If you had asked for part numbers in it I would have supplied them.
I'm looking to remove anything under the hood that is not vital to the operation of the car. I need to strip some weight and am trying to remove anything that is not vital. Any help as to what can go and what has to stay would be appreciated.
P.S. This car is set up for road racing and will never see the street again. So all things that can go must go!

Lighter wallet with the stoptechs, but I understand, he would stop better.... 180, I build the HP around my weight, I am not dieting.....besides, you need a little weight to counter the spinning lol. I would think, seriously, you are building a race car you would know what to remove...but, that's just me.... Literally, anything that doesn't make the engine go.....a nice project. You might look at the Inde Sports Needswings car....he has stripped it to the bone....
Replace the OEM battery with the Shuriken....
Shuriken Light Weight Battery Kit
Shuriken Light Weight Battery Kit
The OEM SRT6 battery weighs in at 42 pounds, this Shuriken battery weighs in at 14 pounds giving us a weight savings of 28 pounds off the front off the car!
A bit touchy about the waistline are we?
