Talking Electrical tester for the lighter outlet $3

I have been suggesting that you get a lighter tester for the srt to keep track of the voltage and trouble shoot issues that may pop up.

Thru the power of ebay these are here at about 3$ SHIPPING FREE. Just cant be better than this. It is a led read out in tenths of a volt, works and is priced right. Now you can have one for the price of a cheap beer. Wdy

Per your suggestions in other threads, I thought it would be good to get one of these and the one you linked to here is the exact one I ordered. I ordered it about a week ago and it is in route as we speak (type). Should be here no later than the 29th (I think it comes from China). I'll let you know how well it works once I get it and try it out. Heck, for 3 bucks, I won't be out much if it's a dud .

Amazon Amazon

Update: Just checked the shipping status and it was delivered yesterday via USPS (I need to check my mail more often)

No comment due to possible political ties and GAG order by FP.

Got it yesterday and seems to work as advertised. What voltages should we see in the Crossfire with the engine off and when it's running. My readings are in the "good" zone on the included chart but I was just curious what these "electronically sensitive" cars should be seeing.

I'm getting about 12.3 with the engine off (and it slowly drops the longer I leave it without starting the car) and 13.8 to 14.1 with the engine running.

Thanks!

RL

As stated in my above post, I got one coming too. Should have got 2.

This will be a welcome gadget for a car that doesn't have enough instrument gauges.

I've always been a gadget guy.....

Thanks Woody!

The static battery reading if accurate, should be about 12.6 volts and should not decay too much sitting for days. The open voltage of a battery is not a good method of monitoring it but 12.6 is healthy unloaded voltage = assuming it has sat for several hours. Just after turning car off, it will be higher than the true rest voltage.

See the chart in text.

See the chart reading for REST VOLTAGE

Enjoy Woody

I ordered one yesterday as well, it looks like it would blend in easier to the accessory mod I did!
