88K miles, what needs attention?
First, a bit of history about the car. I bought it with 86K miles, have loved every moment I'm in it, and would like to keep it and upgrade it a bit. The only repair that's been done under my watch has been done at the urging of my mechanic (whom I've used for 10+ years and whom I trust) and was quite minor. The supercharger was replaced at 40K by a previous owner (AFAIK using OEM parts). About the only real issue I know of is that the AC/heat does exactly the same thing that a lot of Mercedes seem to want to do, namely it doesn't actually fully go "off", it just turns way, way down. I don't know if that's normal behavior -- I've seen it on some of the Cs -- but it's such a minor thing that I'm not really worried. There are no OBD codes stored for the engine as far as I can tell. There are some for the transmission, but I don't think they're recent.
Still, I'm going to be taking it fairly soon to get some minor cosmetic issues fixed, and I was wondering what sorts of maintenance I'm going to need in the near future. What should I ask him to take a hard look at? Is there anything expensive that's likely to need fixing soon, given the mileage?
