Default Dead & gone...

Well I promised myself that no one would ever drive my cherished srt6, even though the b*tch has cost me THOUSANDS - a serious money pit.

Firstly, Id like to say, if anyone remotely cares, "im ok" but the srt6 is a right off.

not my fault, the car completely left the road, and I think, spun landed on roof. and I kinda got my bearings, realised I was still here and squeezed out of smashed side window (hooray I knew a 24" waist would be useful one day) I was driving alone.

Do I buy another? no Do I buy a standard? no. This is because I feel, when in such a huge smash, its bad luck to buy same marque.. So I will use this thread to say a fond farewell to all you crossfire owners (yes, Im slightly jealous of you now!) I have bought a brand new car - not a crossfire, and am pending insurance settlement.

bye all.. Happy motoring - 'be safe' xxxxxx

You've never heard of Double Down?

I've caught a few of your threads in the past.. unfortunately some cars can be just that.. even right off the show room floor.

At least your okay and no injuries out of it.

Stop in and let us know when the next car wash is!

At least you're safe! Another one bites dust, but thankfully you are still around.

Glad you walked away and sorry to hear another one of these cars are gone. One thing sticks out in my memory of reading Crossfire crash stories. The drivers almost always walk away. These cars sure take care of their owners.

Thanks all xxxx

It was fun while it lasted. I agree, the car DID have a fantastic safety system regarding protection. All I have is a cough from the airbag dust and a red nose Such a shame. I think if the SRT was on a 4wd the accident may not have happened (ice related) sooo.. If Chysler made ONE design mistake with the crossfire, it would be that it wasn't all wheel drive. It really needs it.

Glad to hear you're OK, too bad another SRT bites the dust. A Mercedes 4Matic would probably drop right in using factory parts, but I don't know if it would hold up to the power a kompressor motor puts out.
What kind of car did you buy to replace it?

A Jeep Compass, for now, and then when winter weather passes, probably put my butt back in a coupe (I might go back to the old SL600) Love the old W129 xx

Physics will always win out.... even with all wheel drive.... ice with 4 wheels having no traction = ice with 2 wheels having no traction if the ice patch was big enough (under the whole car), all other things being equal. Be glad the physics of the flipping car and solid design of the cockpit didn't mess with the physics of your face/head other than the sore nose..... If you didn't hurt your back/neck after flipping, consider yourself extremely lucky. The SRT6 took the impact/crushing rather than you..... Pay homage to the car-cass that saved YOU from being a carcass.

Did I missread something? Is this car dead? I thought it was in ICU awaiting the insurance Gods to either fix it or bury it?

Flipped cars generally have their fates already sealed. Too big of a chance of structural damage that can't be repaired effectively.
