2004 Crossfire srt6 - 160.000 km
Hi,
I am currently looking at a 2004 srt6 with 160.000km on The dial.
What should i expect ? The car has a complete service history and is taken Well Care of, but I am concerned about The 160.000 km.
How Many km Will these cars take?
It is for sale at 8000 €
I am new to The crossfire and would Like you opinion!
Best regards
Joachim - Denmark

Re: 2004 Crossfire srt6 - 160.000 km
Can you post up the VIN on the car? It is my understanding that the SRT-6s were only produced in 2005 so I am curious. Is there a web site that has pictures for us to see to make sure it's not a psuedo SRT-6 (like in badging only)?
As far as 160.000 KM (approx 100,000 miles), shouldn't be a problem. There are several people that have more than that on their cars and they run great if it's been taken care of. Just keep taking care of it and it will take care of you - in my opinion.

There is a difference between the manufacturing date and the model year date. There were numerous SRT6's manufactured in 2004, as 2005 models. There were 2944 2005 SRT6's manufactured and a few 2006 SRT6's. We've found 67 2006 models to date, the total number is unknown to the forum members.
Since you have concerns about the 160,000 km's, you should try to obtain the service records for the car, since several major service requirements are due at this time for the SRT6 such as spark plugs, transmission fluid change, antifreeze flush and change, oil change to name a few, this could easily total $1000 US Dollars at a dealer. You may want to use this as a bargaining point on your negotiations to purchase the car. The drivetrain is Mercedes Benz, so the miles are not a concern, unless it was abused do to a lack of required maintenance by the other owner.
Good luck in your search....

As a high mileage SRT6 owner it is critical that you look into a few things on the service side before you jump in. The standard stuff applies here as it would with any car; plugs and wires (100k service interval), trans filter and fluid (80k service), Tires (at an avg of 20k for the rears 100k suggests tires are needed or were just replaced), filters (fuel, cabin, air, and trans), and shocks.
If the vehicle was maintained and not raced or tracked then most of the other concerns go out the window. I am at 145,000 miles and aside from typical wear items (some bushings, tires, filters, and fluid changes) the car runs like a champ.
