Default Adjustable tunes

A local performance recently scanned my car an showed me I was in need of sparkplugs or wires ,plugs were changed at 50k cwr has 62k stock wires, anyhow last week I had the guy take 5% fuel from across the board took the 6 to the track and my traps were slower he added 5% back my trapspeed came back, this scanner he has got the ability to make small changes to a tune.So to me since I am in process of adding a small 55 shot of nitrous to the car taking two degrees of timing out the computer is the norm, this would be free since me and this guy have been friends for a while,if so this would be a lot cheaper than sending the computer back to inmotion, any opinions.

What device is he using (SCT, Trinity, etc) or is he connecting his computer? I'd kill to be able to make changes to the timing and fuel myself.

Since we're on the topic of nitrous (sort of), I figured I'd mention I just got back from making a few runs on the street with the new all season tires. The tires held the 75 shot at 4,200 RPM's in first gear. I still got a tiny bit of spin when it hit, so I didn't get greedy.

I will find out exactly what device its pretty large say a 10 inch by 10 inch screen he use it on audis bimmers and mercs at his shop,it actually read the mutliple small misfires I was getting at idle it didnt throw any codes he said it could be the the wires since they have 60k on them,he added 5% fuel on top of the inmotion tune and at wide open throttle this scanner indicates my a/f ratio is about 11.6 across the board I still think a wideband is better. The gentleman running the 75 shot are you stock or modded and where or you spraying before or after the charger,I 'm leaning towards before the charger.

I think there's a link to my nitrous write-up in my signature.

EDIT: Guess not. I'll find it and post the link.

I retard the timing 2 degrees for the 75 shot and I spray in the intake tube, pre-supercharger.

That's nice to hear. Hopefully it's able to make adjustments to Open Loop fuel trims and timing as well as closed loop. If it's Closed Loop changes only, that wouldn't be as helpful in fine-tuning at the track.

Sorry it took a minute to reply actually at wrk just went on a break, its larger than a bullydogg an really just looking at it,its a manufacturers tool,I did see him used this same scanner on my 04 silverado truck, the dealership couldnt find out why my truck was putting itself in neutral, well he save me a ton of money with his scanner he can manually command sensors with this scanner I had a bad transfer case switch 40$ instead of the tansfer case the stealership said I needed.

What color is it? It sounds like he just has a scan tool like the Snap-On Modis or OTC Pegisys. If that is the case, all he is doing is reading information from the OBD-II port. Even if it was a Star-DAS, there is not any fueling adjustments that can be made. He would need software like WinOLS and the DAMOS file for the Bosch ME 2.7/8 and the maps defined to make fueling adjustments.

Do you have a SRT-6? 12.1 is pretty lean on pump gas.
