Re: thoughts on water pump supplier...ebay...cheap....
I just replaced the water pump on my srt6 on 9/6/13.
I shopped all over looking for a pump and found many that said they fit but looking at the pics, no way.
what I found tho is the cardone number for the pump. 55-83333
this is the one I bought thru partsgeek for 114 total shipping and part.
the part seemed to be an exact match and went on like a dream.
So far im tickled.
as for ebay if they have the correct cardone number it will work.
as for other brands i cant say i have any input for you as this was my first turn in the barrel.

114 is good...!!!
how can I get the supplier to find out the cardone number?
They offer what they call a firstline number.....
I'm particularly looking for one with the extra bracket for the alternator = Pulley saver kit.

If your using ebay, just search the A1 cadone number 55-83333 youll find it. Or just google it.
A word about parts geek. They have terrible customer service. If you can find your part and order it, alls fine. But if you need help they are not responsive. As an international buyer I would use ebay. Better guarantee of service and support. For the price I gambled on parts geek and did fine. Came in 3 days and I am happy. But I read many reviews that did not bode well. Mostly wrong parts issues.

Can you imagine the size of market they are missing? In this economy you'd think every buck counts, but I guess not.

I'm sure that with a little bit of ingenuity the existing pump could be rebuilt. These things are rebuilt all the time, the secret is to find the source of the parts required.
Let's start looking, we could save ourselves some money and shipping smaller parts to Oz will be cheaper if that is required.
Back in the day we used to rebuild them ourselves, a bearing and a carbon wear pad is what we used if I recall correctly.
Let's face it, how hard can it be.
Do the bearings look anything like these?
